Another entry for 's contest, this time a traditional art .
I have had an artist's block for about a week, but this broke me out of it. This was done in my style, not okami style (except for the sun and some other stuff). I wanted to try watercolors sometime or another, so I decided to try it on this, although I don't actually have any watercolor paper or paints, so I just had to use my brother's plastic can of the crappy Crayola stuff that you get for like $2, and regular art paper . The background is mostly watercolors and the wolves are mostly colored pencils. I really enjoyed making this, although it did give me a callus on my hand... But I don't really care because I like the way this turned out. For some reason though, the scanner really messed this up and gave it some small weird spots and the colors are not as great as they are IRL, so I will probably upload a photo version later. Anyway, in this (in case you can't tell), Ammy and Chibi are running on the ground and howling and Shirunai's spirit is howling with them from the sky. It's a family get-together basically, lol. Shirunai's flames are also conecting to Ammy's, and if you look closely, her breath connects to the edge of his fur (it's kind of hard to explain without sounding weird...). I real life the wolve's lineart is sparkly and shimmery, because I used a sparkly gel pen, originally it was just for Shirunai (because he is a spirit), but I liked it so I used it for Ammy and Chibi as well. And of course I added sakura everywhere. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it!
Time taken: About 5 hours off and on.
Tools used: Cheap $2 watercolors, regular paper, Prismacolor colored pencils, gel pens, and Sharpie pens.
