Description This is one of six photos I had to take for my Digital Imaging class over the summer. For my final series, I decided to take macro (as close as I could get with my lens, anyway) shots of carnivorous plants in the greenhouse at my college.

This plant is a tiny pitcher plant; water collects inside the modified leaves of this plant, which act as pools to insects when they are looking for food. The lip of the plant is coated with a slippery sap that, when the insects land on it, lets the insect slip down into the water and be digested.
