Argon's Herd
Official doc for herd info can be found here Link
The territory claimed by Argon is mostly mountain forest, stretching from the mountain side down over its foothills and into the valley. Tall evergreen trees make up most of the larger flora but a few leaf trees can be seen closer to the lake near the center of the territory. A small but rapid-moving river runs from a spring in the mountains into the lake and further out into the valley. A special landmark of the territory is the “drowned trees”, this part of the lake has trees rising out of the water that never seems to stand freely but don’t rot away either.
Most fauna from the territory is mountain and forest-dwelling, meaning pumas, bears and wolves are the main predators. While different kinds of deer is the most common large herbivore.
Herd info and personal canon
Mares of the herd fit into a rank system decided by Argon and the lead mare. Mares favored by Argon will always be high ranked and better protected, cared for, and generally treated than a mare who doesn't have his favor. The mares generally fall into High ranking mares, medium-ranked mares, and low-ranked mares.
The position of the lead mare is decided by the mares, though Argon can overrule the decision if he doesn't find the mare suited for the position, likewise he can also demote a lead mare.
The lead mare is normally the most senior mare in the herd (who is favored by Argon), she is in charge of leading the mares to safety in a dangerous situation and keeping the harem in order.
Mares belong to Argon, breeding with anyone but him is forbidden and punished harshly.
Each mare must care for her own foal, in a situation of danger a foal is the mother's responsibility.
Strangers will not be tolerated near the herd.
- Colts will be chased from the herd once of age, fillies will mostly be allowed to leave on their own time unless the herd becomes too large.
