I adore these two but wow they're horrible. Like they're awful. Bad boys. (They are the antagonists of the story, I'm very serious, they're not good boys...) Val sleeps weird and Zaroth doesn't understand, but honestly no one does so he's not alone.

Just a refresher on these two!

The one with the collar is Zaroth. He's a Nether Daemon, meaning he's a pureblood and descended from the original banished Numen. He's the counterpart for Fenrir.

The one in the awkward positions is Valkyrie, who I just call Val. He's an Inferial Daemon, meaning he's a half-breed Daemon. He is the counterpart for Loki.

Zaroth and Val's father is a Nether Daemon and one of the original Numen banished into the Netherworld (Helheim), while Val's mother is one of the original creatures who resided in the Netherworld (an actual Daemon, not a Numen, making Val a cross of the two). Zaroth's mother is a Nether Daemon and also one of the original Numen.

And yes, Fenrir is Loki's son in Norse mythology, but they're only counterparts in function to the overall story. Just as Balder is Odin's son in Norse mythology but the counterpart for Balder is the main character, Firnes, and Val's son (second son, actually).

Side note: I didn't post him here because I forgot, but he's up on my Instagram. Firnes also has a half-brother! Also, ironically, a paternal half-brother. Valkyrie now has two sons and I now have my counterpart for Hoder (Hod/Hodr/Hodur/however you wish to spell it because there are various ways of spelling his name). His name is Caius and he's just as horrible as his father really. Marginally better, I suppose... sort of...

Also, I don't know if it's noticeable, but I tried to make Zaroth seem much larger than Val. That's because Zaroth is larger than Val, and not just because he's bulkier but because Nether Daemons are naturally bigger than Inferial Daemons. Additionally, Inferials are larger than an average Andolinian Lupus, at least twice as big... meaning Andolinians are smol smol compared to Nethers. Imagine David and Goliath and you've got it.

Firnes and Caius are lucky enough to be half Inferial, so they're somewhere between the size of Inferials and Andolinians. I might make a chart eventually, just so it's visible, but for now just know that Zaroth is massive.

(also has to do with the fact that Fenrir, from Norse mythology, was said to be a monstrously large wolf so there's that too)
