they weight around 12,000 pounds and like the name suggests would devour anything they get with their powerful jaws and sharp teeth."

"They are practically blind and their hearing and sense of smell is not great but they have vase-shaped indentations with a thin membrane stretched across it, positioned near there nostrils much like snakes have, that act like a thermal eye, the organ is sensitive exquisitely and can detect anything with heat signature up to 20 feet away."

What makes them "The" Alfa predator around this parts is the fact that they not only have one organ to detect their prey but two.
With the help of the high frequency sound pulses through their mouth or nose they can detect the echo from the sound coming back through the spikes protruding across the length of their spine.
It doesn't matter where or how you hide from them they will still find you, much like their thermal detection organ their spikes are extremely sensitive, this high frequency sounds they produce it's unique to each Devourer much like human voices are.
Those spikes can detect the shape and exact position of what's around them up to 80 feet away."

"Devourers travel in pairs a male and female, they spent there entire life with their partner when they find them never separating even upon death, if one dies for any reason the other will cannibalize their corpse, then remain on the spot until eventually die themselves from hunger and/or dehydration.
It's unknown why exactly Devourers cannibalize their partner's corpse after death, some people say is out of hunger but that's not seem possible because they will consume them right after their death meaning they possibly not yet feel any hunger. Others believe and most probable reason base on behavior observation that it's because they don't want other animals feasting upon their partner's corpse and even thought for them that fate is inevitable they do it out of grief thus also the reason why they will remain on spot until they perish themselves.
