Description
This shot took a hell of a lot of work to save but I think it was worth it. Poor, diminishing light and intrusive mesh fencing almost beat me!Siberian tigers, mother and cub.
Note: A heartfelt THANK YOU! to everyone who has added this piece to their favorites. I'm overwhelmed by all the feedback and wish I could personally thank each and every one of you!

I like how the kit is looking toward the camera with the curiosity of youth and the mama is looking off to the side, ears back ready to fight someone, protecting her baby. A beautiful shot.

That is absolutely beautiful! The concept and angle of the picture was very well taken, and how you lightened up the tones and all just makes it that more unique! Amazing shot! Can I ask where and how you took this photo?

Thank you! This was taken at Howlett's Zoo in Kent, England. Just outside Canterbury. I spent a good 6 hours with these Tigers on this particular day, just studying them and waiting. These days, as the Zoo is so close to me, I tend to go there with a particular subject in mind and try to spend most, if not the entire day with them. Sure, I'll easily fill 12 gigs of memory on my cards but the reward can be worth it effort when you find that one gem.

wow really good thing you went down at that zoo on that day AND you never deleted it, it earned you a well deserved DD! I think it's a brilliant shot, you should do more shots like this (if you don't already) of different animals with their babies/cubs, I think you have potential in picking the right moment to capture

I do try and capture animals with their young, but there have been very few opportunities this year. Nevertheless I will keep trying! Thanks again

The mesh really was a hassle, I had to do some extensive adjustments and burning to remove them. Even then there are still areas of the shot that don't quite look right. The composition I was very happy with however.
