Description

E.v.e. CL 001 landed on top of a large branch, then dropped off of it and caught himself with his tail, wrapping it around the branch. He reflected on his feelings, and wondered if they might be worth exploring more. Turning off his visor, he thought over the evening's earlier events, and now felt bad for his old flame, who he'd left hanging. He then remembered his sister and her girlfriend trying to help him win him over. He struggled to remember their names. Failing to remember his names, he now started to feel like his programming was a curse, and wondered if it was even worth trying to complete his directive. Seized with emotion, he wrapped his wings around himself, tucked his head under his tail wings, and cried. He felt some level of catharsis as he shook with painful sobs and tears fell to the ground. He almost let go of the branch and fell to the ground, but just managed to re-wrap his tail around the branch mid-sob. Gradually, the crying lessened, and he felt relief at having had the chance to just let his emotions take control for once.

He pulled his head out from under his tail wings, and discovered that he'd decloaked while crying. Shortly thereafter, he heard a muffled noise some distance off. His ears perked at the sound, and he looked down the beach, still hanging upside down. Swinging back up, and adjusting his grip on the branch, he dropped back down again, and looked up at the beach in front of him. He spotted Wall.e 18135 standing at the edge of the forest, and curious, dropped off the branch and landed in the sand with a soft thud. E.v.e. CL 001 started walking towards Wall.e 18135, keeping his gaze fixed on him. Wall.e 18135 spotted him in turn and tried to strut down from the tree line. He took two steps and slipped on the sand, forcing E.v.e. CL 001 to leap out of the way as he tumbled down the hill and nearly crashed into him. Wall.e 18135 tumbled into the lake with a loud splash, and E.v.e. CL 001 threw his wing in front of his face, shielding himself from the splash. He dropped his wing to see Wall.e 18135 standing back up and shaking the water out of his fur and clothing. He seemed to be embarrassed. Wall.e 18135 then strode back onto the beach, and confident in his abilities, he started trying to court E.v.e. CL 001 with a dance.

Wall.e 18135 almost immediately launched into the wrong courtship dance. He stood up on his hind legs and started swaggering in a circle around E.v.e. CL 001, planting his fists on his hips and flapping his arms as he walked. His head tilted with each step, and he squeaked a little each time he took a step. E.v.e. CL 001 watched this play out, trying to process what Wall.e 18135 was doing. Wall.e 18135 then stopped in front of him and dropped to all fours, stamping the ground rapidly with his forelimbs and holding his wings stiffly pointed towards the ground, while his hips swayed from side to side, which subsequently caused his stiffly arched tail to do the same. He next folded his wings in front of his face, and danced from side to side, giving the impression of an overgrown bird of paradise. He popped his head out and squawked, and E.v.e. CL 001, now amused, shook his head slightly. Wall.e 18135 then started jumping around stiffly, flapping his wings with each jump, and turning as if on a turntable, and E.v.e. CL 001 backed away from him. It seemed as if Wall.e 18135 was really struggling to get the synth courtship dance right. Wall.e 18135 finally hopped towards E.v.e. CL 001 in a zigzag fashion, his wings and tail stiffly framing his head, which bobbed from side to side as he hopped and squawked. His eyes rolling around as if he were insane was the icing on the (poorly baked) cake.

E.v.e. CL 001 backed away from wall.e 18135, and then lunged and shoved Wall.e 18135 to the ground with one wing. He kept Wall.e 18135 pinned to the ground with said wing and growled at him, before releasing him and trotting away. Wall.e 18135 sat back up and, heartbroken, wailed, "EEE-AAA!", trotting after his ex. E.v.e. CL 001 stopped mid trot, surprised by the sudden mournful wail. He turned around, and Wall.e 18135 caught up to him, his wings, tail, and nubs drooping. E.v.e. CL 001 felt a fresh wave of romance mixed with guilt bubbling up, and he once again let his emotions take the lead. He lunged at Wall.e 18135 again, this time pulling him into a hug, and resting his head on his shoulder. Wall.e 18135 pulled E.v.e. CL 001 in closer, and rested his own head on his shoulder. They stayed like that for a few minutes, just listening to each other breathe. Their breathing briefly fell into sync, and then they let each other go. E.v.e. CL 01 now demonstrated the synth courtship dance for his old flame, dancing away from him several feet, and then dramatically turning around, holding his wings in a graceful swan like pose, and his tail stiffly arced. E.v.e. CL 001 now started dancing back towards his old flame, his wings flapping and tail swishing from side to side. Wall.e 18135 gave E.v.e. CL 001 a look that communicated that he was only now realizing what E.v.e. AX 001 and Wall.e 18138 had been trying to teach him earlier.

Wall.e 18135 tried the courtship dance out himself, dancing in a circle around E.v.e. CL 001, with his wings flapping and his tail swishing from side to side. E.v.e. CL 001 now seemed lovestruck, and when Wall.e 18135 returned to where he started, E.v.e. Cl 001 lunged again, and pulled him into a fresh hug, this time giving him a headbutt of love. They stayed where they were for a moment, and then broke apart, silently agreeing to meet up again later. E.v.e. Cl 001 trotted past Wall.e 18135, and then took off down the beach, leaping into the air from a running start. Wall.e 18135 watched him leave to search for a place to spend the night, sighing romantically. Just behind the treeline, Wall.e 18138 and E.v.e. AX 001 stopped walking and briefly rested their wings on each others backs as they waited for Wall.e 18135 to leave. After he had walked back into the treeline, enthusiastically humming "Put On Your Sunday Clothes", the lesbian couple strode out onto the beach themselves. They had had their own courtship dance disaster on the exact same beach a couple of months beforehand.
