Description
Wall.e 18135 sat on the roof of the old Wall.e storage truck, observing the fog gulch. In the distance, flocks of dragons flew in and out of the gulch. He sighed as he counted each dragon in the flock, and painstakingly recorded how many dragons there were in each flock, what species were present, and any notable details about individual dragons that could be observed at a distance. He hadn't expected to be handed such an assignment by the Axiom's Captain, and he wondered if it was just meant to keep him busy. E.v.e. CL 001 hovered next to him, still running on minimum power after the previous night's debacle. After a few more moments of tedious observation, Wall.e 181835 glanced around, and then snuck off. He'd hatched a plan to try to wake his boyfriend up from his apparently dormant state, and he was just about ready to give it a try.
He returned with an airhorn stored in his trash compactor, and again looked around to make sure that he hadn't been spotted. The coast seemed clear, and the closest group of humans was out of earshot, trying to repair a breach in the Axioms hull made by a wild animal. For all Wall.e 181835 knew, the nearest synths were busy tracking down that animal in an attempt to capture and relocate it, and the dragons that were nearby were wild. He glanced at the fog gulch to make sure that there was no activity which he'd have to record, and then pulled out the airhorn and snuck up on E.v.e. CL 001, bracing himself for the impending loud noise. The blast startled entire flocks of dragons into leaping into the sky in panic, and he heard a panicked scream transmitted over his radio collar. He rehid the airhorn and nervously glanced at the Axiom. The people seemed to have noticed the disturbed flocks, but not the cause of it. After a moment of curious observation, they returned to prying out the damaged hull plating and dislodging the damaged sections of internal skeleton. The plan having failed, Wall.e 181835 now hatched a new plan. He left and returned with a bucket full of ice cold water, which he planned to pour over E.v.e. CL 001 in the hopes that the sudden shock would wake him up. Instead, he accidentally dropped the bucket, and splashed ice water all over himself. He retreated off the roof to dry off and think of another plan. He noticed a pair of jumper cables hanging on the wall and got an idea. He returned to his dormant boyfriend with the jumper cables in one hand, and a crowbar in the other. He pried open a seam on his own chest plate, exposing his heart core, then hooked up the jumper cables and tested them against each other. Sparks flew from the free ends of the cables when he touched them together. Wall.e 181835 then pried open the seam on E.v.e. Cl 001's chest plate and touched the ends of the jumper cables to E.v.e. Cl 001's heart core. He was thrown backwards and stunned by the force of the electrical jolt that occurred as soon as he touched the ends of the jumper cables to his boyfriends heart core. Thunder rumbled in the distance, and the people retreated inside through the hole that they had just made. Wall.e 181835 got back up and spotted the incoming storm in the distance.
Wall.e 181835 stood next to E.v.e. CL 001, shielding him from the rain with an umbrella, and wearily keeping an eye on the distant Hidden World Entrance. A bolt of lightning struck the umbrella he was holding, zapping him back into a state of full awareness, and fully recharging his battery while simultaneously reducing the umbrella to a bare skeleton. He closed the skeleton and picked up a spare umbrella, opening that one. Another bolt of lightning struck this umbrella, again messing with his hardware. This time, a backup battery kicked in and absorbed the dissipating charge. Wall.e 181835 found himself wondering if Wall.e 181838 had come up with that idea herself, or if this was a standard feature of Wall.e drones as he opened up a fresh umbrella. He stood over his dormant boyfriend for several long hours, only bringing him inside when Wall.e 181838 and E.v.e. AX 001 got home soaked and asked him to come inside.
Several days later, Wall.e 181835 sat at one end of a makeshift boat, steering it down an artificial river. Wall.e 181838 and E.v.e. AX 001 sat at the other end, paddling. A still dormant E.v.e. CL 001 sat dormant in the middle of the boat, shielded by a parasol. The boat reached its destination just before sunset, and Wall.e 181838 lead the rest of the group to a large wooden bench with a good view of the sunset. A dented trash can and a lamp post with some engraved sweetie graffiti sat off to one side. Wall.e 181838 and E.v.e. AX 001 sat down on one end of the bench, exchanging a brief kiss before they settled on holding hands and watching the sunset. Wall.e 181835 hauled E.v.e. AX 001 onto the bench next to him, and sat down next to him at the other end of the bench and started watching the sun set himself. After a few moments, he sighed, and wished he could hold hands with E.v.e. Cl 001. He nonchalantly reached out with one arm and pulled E.v.e. Cl 001 closer to him, then slid one hand inside his arm, pulling that arm away from his body and gripping the paw with his own. After a moment, E.v.e. CL 001's arm retracted, painfully trapping Wall.e 181835's hand, and he started trying to pull himself free. E.v.e. AX 001 watched in shock and sympathy and Wall.e 181838 watched with a half shocked half guiltily understanding grin as Wall.e 181835 fell off the bench and pulled his dormant boyfriend off the bench along with him, E.v.e. Cl 001 floating idly as Wall.e 18135 struggled and thrashed around on the ground. He accidentally backed up into a trash can, leaving a fresh dent in it as he struggled to free his trapped hand. The two women got up and grabbed E.v.e. Cl 001, pulling him backwards and freeing Wall.e 181835's hand- albeit nearly wrenching his forearm greave off with E.v.e. CL 001.
Later that night, the group of synths lay curled up in a small heap, sleeping deeply. A fresh message was transmitted over their collars, waking three of them. Wall.e 181838 and E.v.e. AX 001 exchanged knowing glances, and then snuggled up next to each other and fell back to sleep. Wall.e 181835 blearily stared at E.v.eĀ CL 001, and, whimpering, tried to rouse him with a nuzzle. When that failed, he wearily gave up, curled up around him, and fell asleep. He didn't know that the Columbia's Probe Ship would be returning the next morning, while the other three synths did.
