Description
Almost as soon as they reached the tree line, Glitchtrap heard a distant rumble of thunder. he exchanged worried glances with Vanny. They sprang up one of the trees, and scanned the horizon for the source of the noise. They spotted it almost immediately: an incoming downpour. Glitchtrap cursed- the last downpour had only departed a few days ago- what was up with this crazy weather?!? He sprang back down the tree, commanding his minions to break up into groups and fan out- they needed to establish a permanent base camp and quickly! He sent one group out to search the woods for a suitable spot to establish a base camp in and start clearing it. He sent another back to the Axiom to plunder its food stores. A third group was sent along with the second- but with the objective of plundering raw materials. Group 4 was sent out to salvage scraps and raw materials while Group 5 was sent off to quickly hunt game. When they left, he summoned Vanny, who was still perched at the top of the tree. He instructed her to to to the Axiom and quickly check up on the copy of himself which he'd implanted in the Axioms computers earlier that week.
Group 1 alerted him to success first, and he broadcast the location of the camp to the other groups and Vanny, then ran to join the first group, his rusty springlocks creaking, snapping, and popping as he ran. He quietly added "replace springlocks" to his to do list... not that it was extensive- he pretty much had just "haunt axiom" and "get more followers" on that list. He skidded into the clearing to see the group already felling trees, cutting vines, and shearing tarps of moss from everything they could- practically indiscriminately. He ordered some of them to stop and instead use the materials to begin construction on a shelter. They worked mindlessly, drilling holes, lashing logs together, stitching moss tarps together, and continuing to gather such materials the whole while. They began hurriedly erecting a collection of frames vaguely resembling a more natural version of a Fazbear labarynth, and pulling the covers over them. Glitchtrap ordered them to dig pits and drains and collect rocks as well, and they again mindlessly carried out his instructions, expanding the complex into a half above ground half bellow ground warren of chambers and tunnels. It was remarkable how quickly they worked- within an hour the growing number of minions had already created quite the substantial space. Glitchtrap continued to direct the construction from the top of a tree, keeping an eye on the impending storm as he oversaw his minions actions.
On the axiom, Vanny quickly plugged her mask into a terminal and established a dialogue with the copy. It informed her that so far, 300 minions and counting had been successfully brainwashed into followers. It then informed Vanny that it had gained access to another computer system, and was currently working to start pulling followers from this computer system as well. Vanny, confused, requested that the system inform her about this computer system. The Glitchtrap copy gave her a cryptic answer, something about a "Talon" which confused her to no end. The Glitchtrap copy also informed Vanny that it would likely take a while for any followers to start showing up, as the security systems of this computer network were extensive, and it would need time to find weaknesses to exploit. Vanny disconnected from the copy, unsure of what to say to her master if he asked about such a development. She pushed the matter out of her mind, and decided to focus on checking up on the groups Glitchtrap had sent to the Axiom with her.
She found group 2 already trying to ferry off too much food to carry- at least by the armful. At a loss, she looked around, and then noticed group 3 returning with laundry hampers full of scraps and stolen technology, and got an idea. She sent some of them back to retrieve clean hampers for group 2, and had them star piling food into the hampers. They did this with gusto, ferrying their first batch of stolen food off shortly after group 3. They successfully ferried off a second batch of stolen goods half an hour later. On their third attempt, they had to high tail it out of the Axiom- some uninfected synths stumbled across group 3, prematurely ending the raids. Vanny flew back to camp at the head of groups 2 and 3, already planning night raids for... after the downpour. Reporting the successful brainwashing of more minions, and the failed raids, Vanny was asked to send groups 2 and 3 to help group 4 (somehow extremely successful) to help bring in the wild game. Vanny did this before perching on a tree next to her master. She then watched the storm inch closer and closer to their camp, wondering if she should bother to tell Glitchtrap about his copy finding and trying to break into the computer system of a "Talon" anyway. She glanced at Glitchtrap, and realized that he likely already knew- it seemed that he was deep in thought, and didn't know what to do. The thoughts were wiped from their heads when a bolt of lightning struck too close for comfort. They ducked inside the shelter and hurriedly recalled their minions. The crushing rains struck shortly thereafter.
