Description

All four synths awoke to find themselves stranded in a massive dark room. The ceiling was hundreds of feet above them, and the only light sources that occasionally flickered into the almost pitch black space were the trash chutes high above their heads opening to drop pieces of trash in, and the internal airlock doors opening to let the massive sliding platform through. All four synths quickly realized where they were- they were in the disposal sector. This likely meant that the Wall.Cs- robots that were identical to the Wall.as in all but designation- were hard at work clearing the sector of the previous days trash. They were too weak to do much, however- their heart cores were (temporarily) beating fast and irregularly, and it was likely that all four of them had sustained damage to their motherboards. They lay where they had fallen, buried up to their chests- even almost up to their necks in trash, and nervously waited for whichever came first: their heart cores re stabilizing, or the Wall.Cs accidentally attempting to dispose of them.

The Wall.Cs suddenly loomed over them, obliviously raising their gigantic spade like hands and preparing to compact the trash piles in front of them into gimormous trash cubes as the four synths weakly protested against being compacted with the trash. Their hands slammed down in front of them, preventing either couple from seeing the other, and each one was respectively packed into one Wall.Cs latest cube. The two Wall.Cs then turned away from the trash pile, and headed for the platform, adding their latest cubes to the set that was about to be disposed of. The platform jolted towards the airlock, and the computer boomed its warning as the platform slid into the airlock, and the internal doors gradually started to slide shut. The two E.v.e.s heart cores re stabilized first, and they managed to summon enough strength to blast their way out of the trash cubes and haul their partners to safety. They blasted themselves and their partners out of their respective trash cubes, and catching their respective partners before they could fall more than a few feet, charged towards the inner doors of the airlock, holding their Wall.es as tightly as they could. The Wall.es in turn clung onto their partners as tightly as they could, being unable to do much else. To the horror of all four of them, the doors looked as if they were going to close before they could get through... and the two E.v.e.s were still too weak to fly any faster than the average walking speed of a human, or for that matter any higher off the ground than a few meters.

Mo fell hundreds of feet, screaming the whole way down. His fall was broken by a trash pile, and he quickly dug himself out of it with his roller, and then charged down it. He had spotted the two Wall.es and the two E.v.e.s- now severely weakened by Autos attack, and, remembering that the Axioms Mo had done something similar by accident, he had decided to deliberately wedge himself between the airlock doors and cause an explosive decompression, which should, at least in theory, alert the Wall.Cs to the presence of living synths- which shouldn't be in the disposal sector. Mo charged as fast as he could, screaming as loudly as he could, and activated his siren. The siren blared surprisingly loudly for such a small robot, and threw out a rotating volley of red beams of light, which tipped off the Wall.Cs to something being wrong. They stopped what they were doing, and looked down at the charging pipsqueak, then glanced at the airlock, and spotted the synths that were trying to escape it. Now alarmed, the Wall.Cs started rumbling towards the airlock doors themselves. They were slightly too late- Mo got himself jammed in between the airlock doors just before they closed, and the resulting decompression forced the E.v.e.s to fly against it, struggling to keep themselves from being blown out of the airlock even with their wings. One of the Wall.Cs managed to force the internal doors open and stick a single massive hand into the airlock, catching the two E.v.e.s just before their strength failed them. The other Wall.C arrived shortly afterwards, and pressed the "abort airlock disposal" button, forcing the inner doors open while the outer pair slammed shut. The Wall.C that had caught the injured synths then gingerly held its hand up where both Wall.Cs could see it, and rumbled a whale call of concern. In the center of its massive hand, all four synths had collapsed, the two E.v.e.s breathing heavily after their unexpectedly strenuous flight, while the two Wall.es were panting from dragging their partners towards the center of the Wall.Cs hand, where the massive robot would able to hold them all the most safely.

The Wall.Cs sat around the four injured synths, and kept their floodlights trained on them, one resting its hands on the floor. The other gently lowered its shovel-esque appendage and patted the synths with it, the metal fingers patting them so lightly, it felt more like they were feeling gentle gusts of air than actually being touched. When the Wall.C retracted its hand, Wall.e 181838 and E.v.e. AX 001 weakly nodded back at it and grinned. Mo rolled onto one of the hands of the Wall.C that was resting on the floor, and then rolled directly to the injured synths, checking them for any injuries that they may have sustained to their non-cybernetic parts. After a moment, Wall.e 181835 weakly groaned, "Dir... ect... ive.", and pointed at the ceiling. E.v.e. CL 001 shook his head and offered him his hand, moaning back, "Directive..." Wall.e 181835 looked at E.v.e. CL 001's hand for a moment, then pushed it aside and crawled towards him, nudging the doors of his plant support chamber with his nose and repeating, "Directive... Plant... Earth." E.v.e. CL 001 gasped, closed his eyes, and clasped his own hand over his heart core. Wall.e 18135 rested his own hand on top of E.v.e. CL 001s hand, and closed his eyes as well. Wall.e 181838 and E.v.e. AX 001 scooted closer to each other, and held hands. After a moment, they weakly smiled at each other. Wall.e 181838 quietly voiced her agreement with her friend, "We need to get at least one seedling into the holo-detector..." E.v.e. AX 001 quietly asked, "What about the SECUR-TS? You know the Columbias Autopilot seems to have made more of them in the months since...?" Wall.e 181838 nodded in agreement. She then asked, "What about the rogues? The Axiom's rogues were willing to help..." Their conversation was suddenly halted by E.v.e. CL 001 shouting, "Earth? EARTH! WALL.E!" and suddenly sweeping his boyfriend up into a one armed bridal carry as he stood up. Mo squealed and hopped up, grappling Wall.e 181835s horns with his roller. E.v.e. AX 001 smiled and swept her girlfriend up into a similar bridal carry as she stood up. Both Wall.es grinned- their partners strength was starting to return to normal. E.v.e. CL 001 whipped out his plasma cannon and shot the trash chute above them. The Wall.Cs, recognizing what was about to happen, moved their hands up as close to the ceiling as they could, and the two E.v.e.s launched themselves straight up off the Wall.Cs outstretched hand. They flew up into the trash chutes, the Wall.Cs waving goodbye to the rebels as they left. They began to hum "Put On Your Sunday Clothes" as they resumed their work.
