...You guys aren't even trying to convince me, are you? Seriously, I've heard all of the feminist arguments at this point. So much, I can't even keep a polite attitude about it anymore. I have literally lost my patience with it because I've heard the same, easily debunked arguments hundreds of times now. And they more you repeat them, the less they convince me.

But I had to post this one because I got into a brief argument where someone, once again, claimed that feminism is for "equality regardless of gender"...And I realized I hadn't made a proper stamp to argue about it.

Because no, it isn't really about equality for everyone. You may say it is, but not according to the actual definition. A lot of feminists like to pull out this main definition to argue, but most don't realize that it doesn't really help their argument.

No, it only says "women's rights."
The name itself is proof of that. "Feminism" comes from "féminisme" which literally translates to "the state of being feminine." And a majority of the movement certainly acts like it's for only women too. Yes, I know some feminists who do actually give a fuck about men too, and I really love you guys for that....I just wish you were a hell of a lot louder than the radfems and that there were a hell of a lot more of you. Seriously, the only way you're ever going to take your movement back from the radfems is if you step up to the plate much more often, be a lot louder, and shut up the radfems. I'm sorry, but I've had it up to my eyeballs fighting your own battles against radfems.

NO. SHUSH. Don't you dare start handing me that lame excuse for the umpteenth time. They are about as real as you are. Stop shoving your fingers in your ears and pretending they're not there, as if that will magically make them go away. That doesn't work. Because they're still associated with your movement by using your label anyway, no matter how much you ignore them. Ignoring them only encourages them to ruin your movement even further.

"But women really are underprivileged in the US!"
Really, now? Then how come there are practically ZERO abuse shelters for men?
How come there are ZERO abuse hotlines for male victims to call for help without being assumed as the perp? (Australian abuse hotline, but still...This shit happens in the US too.)
How come male abuse victims (sexual, physical, mental, and emotional abuse victims) are constantly laughed at and not taken seriously by society?
How come male abuse victims are automatically assumed by police to be default perp almost all the time?
How come men make up 62% of the homeless?
How come men are more likely to be convicted of a crime than a woman?
How come men get longer prison sentences for the same crime committed by a woman?
How come men make up 90% of workplace deaths?
How come men make up 97% combat deaths?
How come men are still the only ones required to sign up for selective service at 18?
How come men aren't believed to be the real victims of abuse?
How come men aren't allowed to hit a woman, even in self-defense?
How come men are more likely to commit suicide than women?
How come men are falsely accused of rape all the time?
How come men are considered to be rapists and abusers by default?
How come men are hardly ever granted custody of children, even when the woman is unfit to be a parent?
How come men are forced to pay child support to their female rapists or to lesbian couples for being a sperm-donor?

The patriarchy doesn't fucking exist. My ex was too terrified to call the police on his abusive mother anymore because they wouldn't take him seriously and kept taking her side...All because she was a woman. My crush's ex sent her new boyfriends after him to beat him up out of revenge for dumping her.

If feminism was really about "equality for everyone," then it would be called something else that doesn't mean being feminine and focuses on everyone's social issues...Not just the issues of one group. That's why there are movements like humanism and egalitarianism exist.
