Description
...That just makes you and your cause look terrible.• Muslim extremists attacked the US on 9/11. Does that mean all Muslims are extremists? No.
• White people enslaved black people and then discriminated them everywhere during 1900s-60s. Does that mean that all white people today are racist? No.
• Christian extremists condemn homosexuality and discriminate them. Does that mean all Christians are homophobic? No.
• Many feminists hate men in general. Does that mean all feminists are misandrists? No.
Just because you experienced bigotry from some assholes does not mean that their entire group are bigoted assholes.
Do you see me condemning all feminists as misandrists and all straight people as acephobic because I've dealt with some radfems and acephobic people? No. Because that doesn't make me or my cause look too good...And that's not being very fair to others either. I have several friends who are feminists and don't go to the extreme about their movement, and I know people who are straight but are perfectly fine with asexuality and/or understand it. This is why I don't condemn all feminists or all straight people as being terrible. I may dislike/disagree the First World feminist movement, but I don't disagree with the entire movement. (Although, it could do with some serious reform.)
So to throw everyone in a group under a bus with phrases like "I hate white people" or "I hate cis people," is not very fair because you're also degrading people who have done nothing to deserve such criticism/hatred. And now, you're the asshole.
If you want to condemn anybody, condemn the actual dickheads/assholes who wronged you. Not the ones who did nothing wrong. In other words, "don't judge an entire group of people for the actions of a few assholes."
