Description
As a whelp he heard many a wild tale,
of a lake in a forest so ancient
talking of it's age felt like an affront
in that brightly lit inn, by his home dale
Keenly he listened when they drank their ale,
and told of a time when Man was absent,
when the Earth itself was hot and pliant
Such was the age of the lake in the vale

He heard of temples by no known culture,
built on the shores long ago, to honour
a god no-one knows now, or would want to
They said the lake was cursed, and none should err
near it, but he wished to find an answer
and that eldritch thirst grew, the more he knew
