Description
Brought to life in a cottage near the lake from which he takes his name, Scugog is the first Dragon in the Homemade Horror line, and he's got a personality all his own.Top center: Scugog's treasure, don't want to share!"
Top left: "So majestic is Scugog."
Top right: "Go away cats, This is Scugog's perch!"
Middle left: "Treasure all gone..."
Bottom center: "I see... I see... I see you buying fish-snacks for Scugog..."
Bottom left: "Mine!"
Scugog is 100% handmade. His body is handsewn faux fur, his belly is layered felt scales, and his head, and feet are sculpted out of polymer clay. He has a was originally constructed with wire & teddy bear joints, however we 'upgraded' him to acrylic armature & ball & socket joints. He's 28 inches from nose to tail, and just over 12 inches standing.
Scugog stands, sits, curls up around his hoard, and even perches on shoulders, much to the cat's annoyance.
Scugog pre-orders are sold out; see out journal for details: [link] however we will have casts for sale shortly.

The details of the head and paws are incredible. His coloring is very soft and nicely done, he has a Henson-Froud vibe in his design. Too bad I'm broke and I have two cats who love to destroy dolls and plushies or I would commission you. Do you plan on doing different sizes of your adorable Homemade Horror?

Thank you! You've also got a great eye - we've both been muppet fans since we were old enough to demand control of the tv, and Labyrinth (featuring all kinds of Froudian designs) is my (Worms) favorite movie still.
We have similar fears ourselves re: cat damage. Most of the time ours just want to cuddle up to the horrors, although having a twenty pound cat drape himself across your sculpture is hair-raising in and of itself. Thankfully two of three cats are too lazy/obese to access high shelves. The other one...well, we have a squirt-gun for that one.
Yep! We've already got much smaller horrors, though for now Scugog is the largest. We won't be duplicating this design specifically if that's what you mean, but more eastern-inspired dragons are on the way. We're ALMOST done the sculpting stage of one who's a much leaner, more stern fellow than Scugog.

No problem! I think it's the subtle texture on the face, with the wrinkles, it gave the same vibe than the Henson's puppet.
I'd better start saving for both the dolls and a sturdy glass box to display it then thanks and good luck with your sculpting!

What tallent you have! 3D sculptures, and working with fabrics are my favorite things to do, because they are tangable (however you spell that :3 ) I adore your work! Wish I had the time and money to do these things!

That's a big part of why we like makin' these guys; you can actually hold them, pose them and DO things with them. Illustration's great, but once its draw, that's all its ever going to do. Monsters are more fun because they're so interactive.

At a store that cannot be found, unless you already know where it is.
