if you look closely you can see a nebulon b frigate firing green lasers at...the rebellion ships?

Stabzor In reply to Pikaguardian [2012-04-04 12:43:31 +0000 UTC]

I may be mistaken but Nebulon B was designed by the Empire to provide better protection for their convoys. However many crews deserted from Imperial navy and joined the Alliance, some ships were also stolen from shipyards or captured in the battle. Later on rebels get their hands on the designs and started manufacturing them themselves.

Warsie In reply to Stabzor [2012-08-20 05:39:09 +0000 UTC]

right. Though it's weird for the nebulon be to be that close into battle - the smaller ships were in the outer parts of the system keeping the blockade.

Pikaguardian In reply to Stabzor [2012-04-13 21:45:48 +0000 UTC]

you're absolutely correct. the rebellion took other ship designs from the empire as well; i think the x-wing was one of them?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Warsie In reply to Pikaguardian [2012-08-20 05:38:29 +0000 UTC]

Correct. Remember the X-wing's predecessors (ARC-170 and Z-95) was used by the Empire's predecessor state, the Galactic Republic in the Clone Wars. SAt the battle of Endor an entire sector fleet's equivalent of warships was there - the smaller ships were in the outer edges of the system providing a tighter blockade.

EyesDownHero [2012-01-11 16:08:23 +0000 UTC]

Wait a minute... why is there a Nebulon B on the empire side? I thought that model was basically exclusive to the rebellion.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

wraithdt In reply to EyesDownHero [2012-01-12 04:52:36 +0000 UTC]

Nebulon-Bs were first used by the Empire as patrol and escort ships. Some were captured by the Rebellion and used as headquarter ships early in the galactic civil war. Later on I think the rebels built and use more of them in their operations against the Empire while the Imperials relegated more and more of them to border patrols and smaller escort duties.

Warsie In reply to wraithdt [2012-08-20 05:41:18 +0000 UTC]

It's still weird to see them in the front lines of the battle of Endor. They were in the outer edges of the systems with the interdictor cruisers and whatnot.
