I had been an educator for 8 years, before I finally decided to heed my true calling. However, my 8 years as a Guidance Counselor made me realize more the importance of proper education, to empower our future leaders. Unfortunately, for 8 years I was exposed to the truth that in the Philippines, education has become close to a privilege for those who can afford to go to school.

I have been meaning and dreaming of someday forming a charity group along with other Pinoy artists, be it locally or internationally known talents. Same goes to writers, storybook creators, cartoonists, and the rest. I dream of us lending a hand to make sure that the next time these kids see our work, they would not just stare at the artworks. But I can't do this alone.

I hope we can all try to make this happen someday. I know it's quite a job for a Superman, but I believe that if we act together, then Unstoppable and the other Filipino superheroes can save our country's future heroes.

"GUHIT" by the way means quite a number of things in the vernacular, one of which is "art" or "artwork". If I try to translate its meaning as accurately as I could, the acronym would mean "Noble Actions Offered by Various Talents".
