Here's some of the things that need to be explained. I've been thinking about gender in science fiction a lot. How do you justify it? How is it not just a scrap from old norms where the most abnormal thing in Sci-fi is an alien with 3 boobs?

Maybe this solves a bit... a good excuse in the mean time could be "hey, with these rules you can be gay!" then no one can complain.
