Well, y'all voted and helped me make up my mind: Here's the start of a little side plot centering around Sadie as a buffer between the upcoming gloom of the main storyline (That I definitely having been foreshadowing at all.)
---
Bzz..Bzz
Okay, was that her phone or was that just one of the bumble bees that were flying around the Lavender fields just nestled between the woods and the mountains near the family home?
It was mid august, the weather had finally started to cool down, and so she had opted to go out on a little bareback ride around the fields on Heartaches - She had once done it on Marigold and now found it was a nice way to clear her head.
James, Alexis, and Dahlia, were off at the beach doing who knows what (Alexis had her bow - what that meant she couldn't even guess.), so she figured she'd enjoy the peace for the time being.
Sadie and Heartaches had been getting along.. alright. She wasn't the Blood Bay Mares first rider, that much was clear. Originally she'd been owned by someone in Indiana, whom Sadie was actually still in contact with - Heartaches original owner had the same medical thing.. she was never sure what to call it.. that Alexis had and had been helping the teenager train her service dog.
But that was besides the point.
The two hadn't clicked just yet. Sadie would probably never get over the fact that she was no Marigold, the first Horse she'd ever owned.
It was hard to believe that she was just gone.
Whatever, the past was in the past. There were bigger issues on the table right now: Like everything going on with the information Alexis' and her father, and the whole thing with James.. that she would prefer not to think about current.
On top of that, she was starting to feel like she was running in circles. She hadn't competed in forever, since before she went college for her senior year. So maybe having to start it all over with a horse that had been trained but never competed wasn't such a bad thing..
Speaking of...
"Hm.." Sadie muttered quietly to herself, spotting a part of the old (Built in like 1890-something.) fence that once surrounded the fields, it had sunk into the ground over the years and now stood probably no shorter than a standard 2' 11" (Or somewhere around there.) jump.
"..You wanna have a little fun?" She asked the horse with a smile, sitting up a little.

*Hands you this* Here, have the thing!
Wanted to go for a kind of 'Dog days of summer' kind of feel, if that makes any sense. Also Purple. So much Purple ,lol. For those familiar: Yes! These lavender fields is how the Stable got its name. Because of the proximity to the mountains it's not uncommon for fog to rollover the fields in the morning, hence 'Lavender Mists'! (Just a fun bit of Lore for you!) There's a fountain nearby too, though the water is rarely actually flowing in modern day.
Also spot the crossover with PGK, lol.
If the proportions for Heartaches seem a bit off, this is the first time trying this angle/perspective, so I'm not exactly...Great at it yet. Or Backgrounds.. or shading..
But hey you get to look at cute little bumble bees!
Okay that's it. You can stop reading this now.
