- Both have powers named after themselves (Magnetokinesis and Accelerator), and both powers are scientific in nature and bend physics to their will: Magneto controls the magnetic spectrum and beyond, tapping into even light and electricity while Accelerator has total control over vectors, basically anything with direction and magnitude.
- Both also have techniques where they shield and redirect all incoming attacks and both have one-shot kills by reversing blood flow.
- They both are geniuses, which is kind of a necessity for their powers, with Magneto knowing basically every scientific law and rule concerning his powers, including just knowledge on energy in general, and Accelerator needing to understand basically every and anything he tries to use his vectors on, even writing his own laws to adapt to attacks that literally did not exist.
- The two have a history with genocide (Magneto, of course, survived the Holocaust, and Accelerator caused it by killing more than 10,000 clones, something that would later haunt him immensely, much like Magneto's trauma from his experiences).
- They both started off as villains, but after being defeated by an incredibly idealistic guy with no superhuman strength (Charles Xavier and Kamijou Touma), they realized the error of their ways and went down a slow path to redemption.
- Despite being villains to start though, neither wanted to be evil just for the sake of it as both thought they were doing what was right (Magneto wanted sanctuary for mutants, but lost sight of his goals and became focused on revenge on humanity for their treatment of mutants while Accelerator wanted people to stop killing themselves on his powers and thus sought power so that no one would ever bother trying to face him again).
- Thanks to the efforts of the aforementioned idealistic guy, they realized they were going about things wrong and eventually, both became heroes (Magneto joined the X-Men, and Accelerator fought alongside Kamijou Touma to face world-ending threats and became the Board Chairman of Academy City). In their new positions, both Magneto and Accelerator sought to prove their change for the better.
- Both are protectors of a vast group of people (Magneto vehemently defends mutantkind with force, and Accelerator similarly protects the Misaka Network (10,000+ individuals) with his life).
- They both have actually fought people with similar powersets to each other before (Magneto faced Proteus, a reality warper who even outright claimed direction and distance were their favorite tools, pretty damn similar to Accelerator's vectors, while Accelerator fought Misaka Mikoto, who also has electromagnetic abilities just like Magneto).
- Both represent the peak of their respective kin (Magneto is an Omega Level Mutant and Accelerator is a Level 5 esper), making them some of the most powerful of their kind.
- Mutants and Espers also represent the next step forward for humanity, being powered individuals with many unique and amazing abilities. Hell, Academy City is a haven for Espers, which isn't really all that different from the various Mutant havens that have popped up over the years like Genosha and Krakoa.
- They also have white hair, so they basically are the exact same person. But actually it's kinda neat that Magneto's X-Men costume is primarily white with black highlights, and that's basically been Accelerator's general color scheme as well.

TL;DR: Physics-bending geniuses who have a history with genocide. Started off as villains but slowly worked to redeem themselves after being inspired by their physically weak but idealistic rival. Both are protectors of a large group of people and represent the peak power of Espers and Mutants.
