Description Color: brown, grey, green, black.
Sound: rustle, whisper, silent breaths.
The Hunter found his prey.
Emotion: overconfidence, elation, quickly banished.
The Hunter raised his weapon.
Movement: inch by inch, a silent change, as fast as a rock.
Emotion: anticipation, joy, difficultly banished
The Hunter took careful aim.
Mistake: whispered, “Finally”
The prey bolted in a streak of brown and a rustle of wind.
“DAMN” cursed the Hunter.
The empty glade did not respond…
The Hunter strode into the peaceful glade, crucifying it with every footstep. He knelt to the ground like a man paying homage to a god and spotted his goal… Tracks…
The Hunter began the arduous task of tracking his prey. He traversed through murderous knives, silent brooks, forlorn sentinels, and, finally, to his prey.
The Hunter raised his weapon again.
Emotion: rage, fear, anxiety.
The Hunter took careful aim down his sights.
Emotion: relief, confidence, possibly sorrow?
The Hunter pulled the trigger…
Sound: click
Mistake: Not loading his weapon…
“DAMN!! DAMN DAMN DAMN!!!!” raged The Hunter.
The empty clearing remained silent throughout his tirade…
The Hunter’s prey had eluded him for so long… for DAYS he had chased this creature… For days he had failed…
“Not again… I won’t fail again” swore the hunter.
Yet again The Hunter had to find his prey. Yet again he trekked the wilderness. Yet again…
Yet again…
The Hunter tracked his prey through shadow and doubt. He pursued his quarry through rage and sorrow, through dark and light, and across a blood red field of flowers…
When he stopped.
For there was a long black road.
Snaking its way into the distance.
For there was his prey…
…Already dead…
And one sob escaped his lips…
…And he fell, he fell for eternity…
