Description

Starborne aren't the only residents of the Absence. Many creatures have come to call the dimension their home, either by entering it or developing "naturally" there. One such creature is the Slipserpent.
Silon has two of them as "pets" named Gnaessis and Elliptei.

Named for their ability to "slip" into and out of the fabric of the Absence, Slipserpents are the primary sources of light in their home biome, the Aphotic Reef. Normally an "herbivore," they swim through the air, chomping on star dust flittered about the ether.

The star dust they ingest gathers in clumps and ignites within their translucent bodies, giving off light and presenting the illusion of living constellations. In time the star dust compresses and hardens into the stony or metallic materials that form their heads & tails.
