Description full title: "and we won't talk on the way home"

spending time with people is the make or break of whatever you have with them. friendship, relationship, love, reliance. i wont go into all the details of what the red, blue and white lines mean but i know if you consider over who and where they are, their shapes and their color, then you'll get their message all the same. the thoughts are scattered around, like small clouds hanging in the air.

i sat opposite these two people on a recent trip, doing what i usually do in airports and public spaces - take covert photos of people without them knowing.

i think we've all had these moments, nothing left or nothing more to say, feelings about or for someone that we'll never share with them, things we think that we'll never act upon, moments that last for years and leave us emptier than beaches at low tide.

"and we won't talk on the way home, and maybe we'll take the drive home in silence too, maybe silence is a band-aid for what is hurting hard, and maybe tomorrow we can pretend that all it meant was 'i love you' in another fucked-up way."

peace

thanks.. you know, thats a good way to describe it.. both ways.. its a terrible moment(lifetime it feels like) to be in and struggle with.. and the other person is right in there with you but you're so insulated, so isolated and seperate at that very moment.. its all too common and odd when we think about it later in 20/20

yup, its all around us.. every day, every situation.. the feelings, the energies.. the dogmas like chiding school-teachers - dont do that, you should say this.. memories from earlier, similar situations trying to give you their benefit of advice, your need to progress.. break free of old patterns.. find happiness, trying not to hurt people..

and then on top of that you've got to remember to go to the store for milk....

wow, thank you! thats prbly one of the most powerful things i can receive in a comment - that a viewer can see something of themselves in the image. for me that is what art is all about.. communicating an idea or thought.. something i might feel or think and then coming across someone else that understands..

many thanks!!

thanks.. i've really been in this 'overlay' mode with photographs recently.. i find i want to scratch lines and words on them.. fill them up with that invisible layer that most may miss.. appreciate your support!

under the crossout I can make out "I thought he/she was the one".

I'm pretty sure I get the lines, focusing on what the text reads...
Usually, everything I make has NO meaning whatsoever.

Very nice work.

Side note: Royksopp remix eh?

yup, you read it right.. all crossed out, thoughts deleted.. but still there.

the guy has a tight red knot in his stomach and his spiral is from his head (logical thoughts) whereas the girl has her main spiral from her heart relating to what she feels. he turns to music (outside noise coming in) whereas she reads a book to hear her own voice (inside affecting/overruling the exxternal) and drown out the external noise of her thoughts. im pretty sure you get the rest thanks man! i appreciate your time on this!
