Only OGs remember who this guy was!
At one point he was just an OC I had on the back burner since May of 2020. He was originally created as a one-off event character for the DA version of Art Fight's Science vs. Magic. And I have come bearing good news: he officially has LORE now!
Kinetik is a Sans who (like Horror, Killer, Dust, etc.) comes from a split Undertale timeline where his role involves himself as the royal scientist. He tried desperately to carry on the same legacy as his father, W. D. Gaster but ended up failing miserably. While mingling with the potential powers of the soul, one of his methods escaped containment and evolved into a soul-eating virus that attacked and destroyed nearly all of monster kind, including King Asgore and his own brother, Papyrus. Without the one person he cared about, he persevered, but at the cost of his humility and sense of regard for any other life besides his. Kinetik carried on with his studies, despite many calling for him to discontinue, and discovered the amalgamations from fallen monster dust; he would further use them as his own personal minions, using them as protection or have them help do his bidding how he saw fit. Eventually, all life left in the underground had dissipated- into dust for his taking- except for him and his amalgamated creations who lived to serve him. Any human that fell into Mt. Ebott would sooner-or-later be found out and be subjected to Kinetik's cruel and unusual experiments. He's not so much of a happy ending...
Things To Know About Him:
- Him and Papyrus were both accidents, but Gaster reluctantly took them in as his own.
- Unfortunately, Gaster left Kinetik to father Papyrus on his own when he was old enough so he could continue his work on the CORE before he died a mysterious death. It wasn't until after Gaster's disappearance that, since he was old enough, King Asgore assigned him to the position of Royal Scientist.
- He hates children... more-so due to his autopilot in the laboratory. The thought of them touching and/or breaking things is what deters them. BUT, if he wasn't so used to working and being serious, he would actually have a heart for them just as much as he loved Papyrus.
- Due to his nature in the lab, he is blunt, serious near 24/7, and is unforgiving.
- He is the lone survivor of the disease he accidentally bio-engineered. He made the riskiest move and purposefully infected himself to develop some sort of immune response proper enough to extract. And the way he extracted that method was through the sacrifice of his right eye. This means he is BLIND in his right eye after the fact.
- Because he is the lone survivor, his only companions are the amalgamations that roam the underground. He is left to his own devices to entertain himself, meaning torturing any human that is unfortunate enough to fall down and be discovered by him or the amalgamates. He is more enthralled to study humans than breaking the barrier.
- Although he maintains a wall of professionalism on the outside, he is rather depressed and crazy on the inside.
