Description
The Deinoraptor is likely one of the most widespread land predators on Auri, they are everywhere but mostly found in hot and dry areas such as deserts or savannas. Filling in a niche similar to that of wolves, deinoraptors are indeed pack hunters which can contain up to 12 members. Deinoraptors have a unique function on their backs that has convergently evolved with the thorny devil lizard on Earth, their spines have tiny ridges that can catch water from the air which is directed via channels into the mouth. The most prominent feature of the deino is the massive claw it has on each hand, which seems to have been adapted into a sort of weapon used to quickly take out prey. This sickle as it is nicknamed, folds into its upper arm where hardened tissue protect themselves from quick retracting of the claw, allowing them to do praying mantis like motions. Old deinos usually break off from the pack to go and die alone as to not give the pack any diseases they might have, these deinos are easy to identify based on how frail and worn down their claws are.

Warnings about Deinoraptors: Deinos are among one of the highest ranking killers, known to track people down who have tried hunting them and broke into their homes to kill their attackers. This behavior has only been seen a handful of times, but you are probably safe if you dont hunt them. Just get out of wherever you are if everything goes quiet.
