What's the best way to get past some Xyphanes who would kill you?
Be in the right place at the right time and have them deal with a super predator that they weren't even aware of it's existence. It's pretty hard, but why shoot something when it can just be eaten by a huge armored walking tank? The predator in the back is a Erythrorcinus, the largest and one of the rarest land predators on Auri. Evolved to take down the enormous land herbivores, it has extremely tough armor to simply ignore being hit by something twice it's size. And it's thick skin underneath the armor can withstand bites and slashes from others of its own species. It hunts by using it's mantis shrimp like arms to punch prey into a cloud of bloody mist and pulp so it can quickly move on to it's next meal, Humans and Xyphanes are no exception. Though, likely you will be ignored by it if it is not hungry or doesn't want to waste energy killing something tiny like a person.
