Description
Auri is the planet in which my manga,"Auri" pronounced "Aw-ri" is a nickname given to this planet by colonizers for it's heavenly Aura it seems to give off. This world was originally designated as Silvaraan516-C, but despite all these strange names, the residents are actually called "Redflies" because of their flag. And sometimes called "Aurics"
One major difference between Earth and Auri though is the moons. Auri has 2 moons (they aren't actually this close, but I had to show their size in comparison somehow), the closer and larger one is similar in size to Callisto, Jupiter's moon. It is an iron rich desert moon which does have an atmosphere but it is toxic, containing ammonia and CO2. Primitive life does exist on this large moon, but only in water pockets deep in the polar regions. The smaller moon is similar in size to Tethys, Saturn's moon. It is primarily made of ancient volcanic rock and ice, and does not have an atmosphere. Auri resides in the goldilocks zone of its parent star, which is very similar to our Sun in the regard that it is a quiet K type star on the larger end of the scale very close to G type. Auri is known to have extreme winters that get exceedingly cold and where it can snow up to 20 feet in even the lowlands, while getting quite warm during the summer. The current geological period of the planet is an ice age, so most of it's fauna have adapted to grow a layer of fur over themselves in winter.
There are 5 major continents, the largest continent being the Erissene continent which is home to the Eris mountain range where Hotaru lives. The other continents in order of size are the Vensuvius, Roosevan, Deran, and Clera. Many of these continents are a collection of smaller continents especially Erissene, which is actually a group of 6 sub-continents which have collided together to form one large land mass. There are also many large islands such as that of the Serene in the tropics. There are hundreds of little and medium sized islands aswell that dot the oceans and coasts which have sprouted from geologic activity and tectonic plate movements.
