picture i made for a presentation about the history of hypertext. there's actually a whole series with pictures in that setting.

for the final presentation (made in apple's keynote, of course ), i just added two lines of text: one the title of the system, the other it's designer. i hate these lousy powerpoint-presentations, where people just read out loud their endless lists that appear onscreen ... i can read myself, thank you.

the picture should symbolize Augment, a system invented 1962 by Douglas C. Engelbart. his work is just amazing: he was the first ever to introduce a graphical interface with windows (go figure: it was not unless 1982 that Apple introduced the macintosh, using such a technology the first time for everyone!!), he invented groupware, the mouse, email, outlines, and made videoconferencing in times when a measure like megabyte was still completely imaginary ... if you are interested: he owns the Bootstrap Institute .
