Description
A depiction of the nameless, blind roman soldier whose spear ended the life of Jesus Christ. This particular idea for him came about while I was imagining figures that could appear as Personae in the Persona video-game series (I'd have filed this under Video Game fanart, but since Longinus and more specifically his spear have appeared in many places, but not actually Persona, miscellanious seemed more appropriate)
We see him clad in a roman helmet and chest plate, with the traditional armor-skirt at his waist. His head seems whole, but a blindfold covers his eyes, blocking his sight. A cross appears on his shield, showing that this depiction is after the death of Christ and Longinus' conversion to christianity. His right hand holds the infamous spear, which itself almost seems to be an extention of his arm. However, he's not truly whole. His left arm is skeletal, and we see his spine between his chest plate and waist. After all, he may have converted, but who knows what curses must have befallen him for striking down the son of God?
