New work in process, USS Midway - Federation Battleship. I have been playing a lot of World of Warships lately and I loved the concept of early battleships/cruisers, which was basically stick a crap ton of guns on the boat and call it good. I took that concept to starship design, this is supposed to be a WWI equivalent for the federation of say something like HMS Dreadnought, a bunch of guns on a big ship. Its impractical, bulky, and kind of dumpy looking, but thats the point. She would be supported by smaller, faster ships that would allow this vessel to get in close to the enemy and brawl with the big boys. I put her in the time frame of after the Romulan war and increasing tension with the Klingon empire. Very few would have been built, say 3 or 4, as it was seen as a much to militaristic approach to a supposedly peaceful starfleet. Its also not meant to exist in any timeline we have seen, this is purely a to satisfy my own thoughts on starship design.
