yup. those are flames.and if youre like WTF LOL WHERE DID THAT COME FROM, look closely on the page before- it's a scroll that says FIRE (in japanese XD) thats being wrapped around the nameless enemy, and the last panel right before this page says "release." it's kind of hard to see cuz the reso is so bad >_< im sorry about that.
I know it looks nothing like fire.
