Description
The work I've been doing since spring. Portrait of Tyrannosaurus rex in the style without a line. This is the first drawing that I started drawing on a tablet, but for various reasons, it could not see the light for a long time. Since this is the first work in this style, I had to learn a lot in the process. But the result, I think, is worth the effort.
Here I was inspired by a recent paper about the "lips" of theropods and made more developed soft tissues than I usually depict. With one nuance - the symphysis of the jaw is covered with dense skin, passing into a free "lip" further. I did this because the tip of the tyrannosaurid jaw has a greater number of neurovascular openings than on the rest of the dentary bone, which correlates more with keratinized integuments. The muzzle itself shows a keratinized integument with depressions that are visible on maxillae of some specimens. A platanus tree is shown in the background. I decided to use the blur effect, inspired by some sketches from Joschua KnΓΌppe's paleostreams.
