yippee! finally got around to doing a remake of my older shadow design :] the anatomy of the last one was a lil scuffed but it still has a place in my heart lol. as shadow got older, i wanted to show his age in other ways than just making his quills longer. so, i decided to show some resemblance to his black arms brothers as he ages!
design notes:
+ his previous white eyes have turned into a soft yellow (not jaundice lmfao) to resemble black doom. his quills also follow this design, as they have become longer to resemble his father more. also a longer tail and backspines bcs why not.
+ as you've probably noticed, i've added a crimson to yellow gradient on his quills along with some extra two to frame his face! these were added to show his age and have him look and feel more mature as well as being a throwback to my favorite shadow android within the 2P mode. the metal orange one slapped.
+ on many parts on his body, you can see some alien scales and markings. these were added to add some alien texture and to help make his design feel complete!
+ i made his chest fur fuller with age. but if he's this fluffy, how fluffy is silver???
+ i threw on the jacket because you really can't go wrong with putting one on shadow lol (as well as being inspired by scourge). it has his insignia on the shoulder and another that completely covers the back.
+ the red bandages on his arms, legs and upper thigh were an aesthetic design choice as well as kinda-sorta stolen from boom shadow. i personally don't like him at all, so YOINK.
+ i decided to remove his gloves and replace them with fingerless ones. this also reflects the black arms as he now has off-white talons.
+ his shoes were both the hardest and easiest part to design. i wanted them to still be recognisable as shadow's, but to have a more mature theme to them. so i decided to give him ankle guards and have them rise higher on his legs. he still has his chaos inhibitors and his rocket shoes remain bcs he needs to be fast lol.
