Description Front view of the old farmstead. Those houses are hundreds of years old but still inhabited.
They need a lot of wood to get a warm home, as you can see.

It's old Central European design; Germany (Bavaria) near the Czech border.

Yup! Actually I knew the design style and where it came from. There is a small city north-east of where I live called Gaylord (Norther Michigan) known as the "Alpine Town" and all the building are based on the old Bavarian design. It's actually part of there city ordinances. All buildings must be of this style. My grand parents lived there until they passed away several years ago, so I have spent a lot of time there. I have always like this style of Architecture, but that is my professional background. Not to mention that my ancestors are from Germany anyways, so guess that would make sense. Thanks for the info and again, great photo!
