Allrite, I won't judge the game before I've played it, but the new style... just no.. xDI had to draw him tough, like everyone else..
Looking forward to try it anyway

I know how you feel on this sort of thing. I have mixed feelings about this game too because of Spyro's new look but I wouldnt judge the game either since I never played it yet.

To be honest, I, like others, among a great multitude of Deviantart members, found the change shocking, even appalling at first, and for a time, I thought, "Oh my gosh!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHYYYYYYYYYYY???????!!!!! " (Not to be mistaken as me hating the new Spyro, because deep down, I still feel a connection with the little purple bundle of joy.) But once I contemplated it more carefully, I guess there are also certain aspects to consider; first of all being that this game isn't, in any way, save character-wise, connected to the preceding games or their story-lines. And so we can still look back on the older games and cherish him for what he was... Secondly that I guess it isn't heinously bad how he currently looks now, and we shouldn't judge too early; as far as I'm concerned, the only things that bother me now, if at all, are his red eyes, and the larger lower jaw, protruding flat teeth included... The rest, though, I find appealing by the least.
And I guess recent art has help to keep my views intact and to remind me that inside, I'll never truly hate him, no matter what he looks like, because he'll still be the same deep down... Anyway, I digress. I really love your rendition of the Skylander's Spyro.

Wai yes, there are some details about his new look that I find unnecessary, like the teeth and out popping eyes like you mentioned.. u__u
I won't say I hate the new look either.. Spyro is Spyro, I'm pretty happy they made him so tiny again, I got tired of the grown up all serious faced legendary Spyro..
But it also looks like some of the attention is drawn away from Spyro in this game, because off all the other characters.. which is a little disappointing. I REALLY miss the purple fella collecting gems, saving his kingdom and rescuing elders :C
let's wait for the game to come out and take it from there.. xDD

The only thing that I don't like about the change is Spyro's eyes. I liked his purple eyes; they were calming, and familiar. Now that he has red eyes, you might mistake him for a bloodthirsty beast. I liked his speckled scales though because to me they looked like they could be battle scars as a reference to his previous incarnations. I also like the new design for his tail. It looks like a spear head that could run you through if you're not careful. Spyro will never be the same as he has been, but this is an entirely new Spyro; it could be a good thing.
Spyro, no matter what he looks like, at least deserves a chance. I'm going to try this game when it comes out even though I'm 21 and the game is targeted at ages 6-12 who like collecting the action figures. I don't particularly care for that gimmick.

I'm very happy they made him smaller, I got so tired of him growing up and get all serious..

Well yea, but I like the idea of character aging as the story progresses. Look at Rydia from Final Fantasy IV. I really liked that part of the Legend of Spyro trilogy. Plus Cynder is really the best-suited mate for which Spyro could ever ask. She's a caring soul, but she does have a funny way of showing it. I like that gimmick and I think they should do it more, at least that way you can see how they change on the outside, rather than just change on the inside.
But I do agree though. Spyro's GBA titles don't look very appealing to me. Isometric camera and platforming do not go really well together.

That may be so, but that was my opinion. But red eyes, green eyes, or yellow eyes always seem to represent evil, at least in fiction. That's why you might mistake Spyro for a bloodthirsty monster with soul-piercing red eyes.
But that's just me.
I'm still gonna give this game a try when it comes out despite what Spyro looks. The red eyes still creep me out just a little bit, but not nearly as much as the Dark Master's eyes were in Dawn of the Dragon. Those bright-yellow heartless eyes literally sent a chill down my spine when I first saw them.

Giving the game a try is cool. I may or may not, if it's going to be on a system I actually own, and if I have any money when the time rolls around. I'm bit weary of the gimmicky action figure thing though.

Yea, I'm not crazy about them either. Considering they often get lost or left lying around for someone to step on and possibly break. Not fun.
