I suppose it’s the nature of mushrooms that endlessly fascinate me. They’re neither plant nor animal. The exist in their own world, just as I often do. So, perhaps it’s a sense of kinship I feel when I encounter one, as I did last week at Rosewood, where once more I was briefly swept off to that other place between here and there, and when I returned, I found myself staring at this new work.
