A few years ago, paleoarchaeologist Genevieve von Petzinger discovered our ancient ancestors used the same 32 symbols tens of thousands of years ago around the world. No one knows what they mean, but given that von Petzinger believes "caves are probably a fraction of what used to be decorated," I wondered where else the symbols may have been floating around. The centre symbol in this image is a more modern symbol for fire, but the surrounding symbols are a few of the 32.
