)one year to complete and yes i started it a bit before his last year's bday...

Its mostly watercolor pencils dry and copics. Didn't try this combination so far, but after that i am happy with the result.

Awesome! I really like that you drew it at a realistic level but did not copy the picture. It truly is a great art piece, the texture in the skin and hair make it stand out while the eye captures my attention.

Experimenting is fun, I find replicating a photo reference to the exact detail to be awesome but at the same time it some what lacks creativity and originality. You should be happy it came out looking amazing!

Amazing! The eye, veins, moisture, light reflection and skin work & colour bring the drawing to life, and the textures - 
When I saw the drawing first though I thought fabulous drawing but I didn't connect straight away it was by your good self, not sure why. Awesome!!

I am glad i did it anyway, copics were great with the pencils, one thing i didnt lay my hands on yet is the airbrush i am still consider it as an open challenge for the future. We shall see...

This is perhaps the best use of your style combined into texture work so far. I really like the fact that your unique line work is so bold here, and flows so well over the all of the facial features, and through the lips like that. It is the way you've drawn this eye that is my favorite part, that and the wonderful highlighting in the eyelash. Water colour pencils and copics seem to be a great combination for you, as this is a splendid piece of work.

copics are great i must admit that. Its like a very handy version of compact watercolor lol

It does seem like you are becoming me, one year is how it starts, and then two, and three, and eventually it seems you are never going to finish.
I have not worked with copics at all, but I have certainly paid for a lot of them. You have me very tempted to try watercolour pencils, but since I do not own any I am safe for now.

I think, eventually we espousing our closest friends ways, and this how we 'become' and evolve. I dont mind to evolve one bit.
200 USD and i paid nothing indeed, and i didnt even use my charms my dear, trust me there, if i was doing this they would have payed ME to use their products.
well...i am kinda scared of touching them...where will this lead? You do know how the first time feels with a new media, yes? Its partially exciting, partially scary. I guess i am more scared at the moment than excited...
a cuddle may help though.

Funny I was thinking just that, who am I kidding it wouldn't be free for her, they would pay her for the privilege of making her art with their products.
This is exactly how I felt with the colour pencils myself "partially exciting, partially scary" but after the first moment you get on the path, and you learn, and you eventually take control. I know this is exactly what you will do with them.
