The whole Luna comic may take some time, but I can upload the second finished pic if you want....
either way, I also updated this pic over the days with some undercover updates: fixed the lighting on one of the front legs, added my signature on Celestia's painting and other stuff.
Luna represented in a key moment before she became Nightmare Moon.
my first try at making "complex" shadows with photoshop.

The first thing I thought when I saw this was The Beast!? But then I realised the painting was covered with ink, not shredded. You have intrigued my interesting regardless. I do anticipate the coming of the comic.

really nice work ♥, great stuff a always, even though i am wondering if this is a child photography in the background, because Luna seems kinda grown-up (like we know her), but Celestia still got her "old" fanon? pink hair and looks like we know her, really like the tar spots on her face ^.^

yeah Eurobeat/Odyssey are geniuses, but AlexS just improved this masterpiece again(imho) unbelievable, but i checked some more music of Eurobeat/Odyssey and i must say I Breathe Fire is also freaking great, even thought its less pony related(still could be if you make up your own story for it

well, we can see she has pink hair in the first episode intro, and when Celestia see's Luna after destroying Nightmare Moon she says "It's been a thousand years since i`ve seen you like this sister" hence me drawing her like she appears in the show.

Hmm. Good point. As much as I hate seeing Sad Luna, it still has an impressive emotional impact for some reason, which is awesome.

It's probably a matter of taste. I have read too many fantasy stories where having a pure-blooded/god-sent/whatever king as surpreme ruler is apparently the natural order of things, which, for some reason always bothered me a bit. I like how the brony fandom put a little crack in the shiny 1000 year ruler image.
... and no, I don't like the "rise up, ponies of equestria" grimdarks. They are overdoing it. But sad luna is just skewed enough to make you think and still fits into the theme of the show IMO.

I can only guess its because a lot of pure-blooded type characters are written in a way that makes them rather unlikable or unrelatable to the readers/viewers. One of the most important things about character development is making sure that your character is of course LIKABLE but it is all too easy for people to just create a 'perfect' character that might have all the powers of god but have the personality of a peice of cardboard but nonetheless, everyone loves them, their powers are endless and anything opposite of such is conformed to cliches in order to make the character look all the more important.

Exactly. I don't go for the grimdark stuff either, though some of my comments may give that impression.
But you're right, Sad Luna really makes me enjoy the basic plot of the pilot episodes. Of course, then I got mad that Luna only got a minute or so of air time. At least we'll see her again in season two!
