My art piece of #Darna’s Janella Salvador as the feisty #Valentina . I’ve had so many false starts on this one because I never felt like I got her quite right, but here, finally, I have a piece of the Queen of Serpents I could be really proud of. Regina Vanguardia is probably one of the best, most fleshed-out comic book villains translated to live media to date, and is a wonderful representation of how good and evil, selflessness and selfishness, hurt and healing, immaturity and depth can coexist in humans. She is also a fantastic lesson as to how humans will reduce anyone to the worst thing they’re perceived to be and will see none of the good. Janella SHINES in this role and deserves all the accolades. I plan on making a separate Regina Vanguardia piece soon, as well as other Darna-inspired pieces so look out for that.
