orange is the universal ribbon color used to represent self-injury. an orange and white ribbon is used to represent a person or people who used to self-injure, but have since recovered. a red and black ribbon is used to represent losing someone to suicide, or overcoming a suicide attempt.

This I don't understand. Β At my school, nobody besides myself self-harms. Β They all wear no sleeves and shorts. Β And those half-shirts. Β So unless they cut on their chests, they don't. Β

it is a really great thing what you are doing! to rise the awareness about self injury is very important, maybe then poeple who does that (including me) will not feel so alone and scare to show ourselves

I like the slogan of Awarness being contagious, I think that it is good enough to be the slogan of the awareness day (if it isn't already). If it isn't- then someone needs to find the people in charge of advertising the day and tell them that your genius should be used to get the idea around. Self-injury- I just told the two guys next to me about this day and suggested that we advertise (they laughed at the idea)- is serious.
I will do something on this day: not for me, but for all the people I know and care about, and all the people I don't know; I still care about you.

I wear an orange piece of string with a white tear drop-bead on it. SO. This makes me happy that someone's saying something about it.

My gf doesn't approve of my love to hurting myself, to self-injuring.
She says she'd better cut something on me herself than watch me do that.
