Description When in doubt - cover the badly drawn hand with a flower
works every time, i promise, otherwise you get your money back and a free small child

Well, anyway, I hope this helps anyone who was wondering how I color (err, if anyone was wondering how I color), and make sure you ask me anything you're unsure of and send me your pictures if you use it!!

The character I'm drawing is Miku from Vocaloid.

I don't think I started it. I would never call someone's art bad or boring for no reason, it's not critique :s

Rofl you deny being a weeaboo when your username is DEIDARAart5 and you signature is all about Hidan?
...yeah. Nah.

And as I just said, movie critics do have to get a degree before they can spread their opinions. So stop using that as an example, it does not apply to you.
It's sweet that you're trying to defend how much you draw your boring oc and your talentless style though C:
Looking at real people does NOT equal anatomy skills. You need to attend a life drawing class, seriously. You can't see how to draw someone who's moving and wearing clothes, you won't improve at all. And if you're copying your own body for your drawings, then I recommend seeing a doctor because there is probably something seriously wrong with you.

If you look through my gallery like you said you did, you'd notice that I have about 4 fan art pictures in there out of the 350 something pictures i've drawn. That's less than 2% of my gallery. Funny you should say that, since your name is Deidara...

Going to art school does make me better than you because you would never get into the course. For one thing, they hate generic anime styles, and like i said before, you really have no grasp of anatomy. I'm only one year older than you, but I was drawing the way you do now at 13, probably better.

I actually would've changed my screenname to something different like I did on SheezyArt, only it took me several years to get as noticed as I am. I kinda don't want to start from square one again LOL
As for the Hidan thing- That's from like...3 years ago. I still find it funny, so I never changed it.

Hey yeah, why are you throwing around insults, sweety? It's making you look really bad. Especially when you're insulting my body. Have I ever insulted how you look? Have I ever insulted your original characters? I've not. I don't plan on it either. Why should I stoop to your level? I'd rather keep myself above looking like more of an idiot. I've also not called you rude names, and I don't intend on it.

If you look through my gallery you'll see about 6 (Most of which are from when I was younger and actually did draw fanart. Don't go look though- They're shit LOL )

Actually I could get into the course. Very easily too. I just don't choose to because I'd break down out of fear. (Not like you care- I'm nothing but shit to you.)

I'd really appreciate it if you stopped acting like a 5 year old and started acting like you're actually 17. Because I'm being cordial now, and I really don't appreciate your snide attitude.

Excuse me miss.
Your words are as bad as anyones, even though you say "You're not being rude and calling names thus making Anemia look bad". That is not exactly right.
You're just sugar-coating your own snide comments and it is showing very clearly.

I'm just pointing out that, though you may not think you're being offensive, you're coming off terrible offensive.

I'm not trying to pick on you, everyones bad for things, but something like this I feel needs to be pointed out.

you really have no place to tell her how to draw when her art is clearly better. its art, she can put shadows wherever the hell she wants. dont like the tutorial? well thats why they put a back button on your browser.

BlueberryRhymes In reply to eloquentllama [2011-03-25 06:21:40 +0000 UTC]

It's not a matter of "who's art is better".
Unless the artist specifically asks for no critique, anyone is able to critique. It's really as simple as that.

eloquentllama In reply to BlueberryRhymes [2011-03-25 06:27:15 +0000 UTC]

well nobody was complaining about her critique, it was all more the comment about how her art was "dull and boring" that got the party started

BlueberryRhymes In reply to eloquentllama [2011-03-25 06:30:06 +0000 UTC]

Yes, that was a fault she made, but after she pointed out that she didn't mean it that way. She meant it as "Too much of the same thing makes it not as interesting". She did not mean it as an attack, the artist took it that way.
Had =XXAnemia not started attacking =deidaraart5 , this wouldn't have happened, and all of this could have been avoided.

You're not one to talk about being rude, miss.
I recall that before =XXAnemia deleted her journal,
You yourself were rude and calling =deidaraart5 terrible things, though she never targeted you.
So think before calling someone rude- it makes you sound like a hypocrite.

Do movie critics have to make movies? Nope. Does my art have to be better then her's to critique her? Nope.

Oh I never said I didn't like the tutorial. The tutorial itself is fine and informative. I just happen to have different tastes in art then her. She just happened to react poorly to my comment.

Less then 5% of people who go to an art school actually can make a career out of it- Going to art school, taking art classes, they mean virtually nothing in the standpoint of who's better.

Would you stop acting so childish and please get off your high horse. It's doing nothing but making me pity you. Throwing around insults like you're a 6 year old does not make you seem "cool" or "mature"- It just makes you look pathetic.

eloquentllama In reply to deidaraart5 [2011-03-25 03:31:44 +0000 UTC]

she never asked you to tell her how to draw shadows and highlights it had nothing to do with anything and you going on to insult all of her gallery is really rather pathetic on your part.

its probably because your comments were pretty much you trying to insult her "nicely". sorry but you cant sugarcoat bullshit.

deidaraart5 In reply to eloquentllama [2011-03-25 03:34:30 +0000 UTC]

She's on an art site, hun. Unless she states in the description she doesn't want critique, I'm fully allowed to critique her. That's part of the reason people post on the site- They want feedback. Negative is included in that.

She insulted me first. I'm not saying I was completely in the right, because hey, I wasn't. But does that mean she's allowed to treat me however she likes? No, it doesn't.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

maddmouse In reply to deidaraart5 [2011-03-25 07:37:23 +0000 UTC]

Ah-
Just..
Two little things to add to that.

"Unless she states in the description she doesn't want critique, I'm fully allowed to critique her. That's part of the reason people post on the site- They want feedback. Negative is included in that."
That my dear, is not true.
It's not some unspoken rule and I am plenty my own critique without having another opinion.
It's usually they comment asking for a critique if it's wanted, not the other way around.
Because then things can go badly.

Also, 'negativity' is not meant to be in a critique, it's meant to be helpful. Not negative.

Don't mind me it's just that really bugged me. orz;;;

There was still no reason for you to dog her art calling it boring when youre not really the boring police. what you think of boring "after three pictures" really doesnt mean shit to anyone except you. that's an opinion, not a critique.

deidaraart5 In reply to eloquentllama [2011-03-25 03:43:48 +0000 UTC]

I'm fully entitled my opinion you know.

I gave her my critique, she responded, I gave her my opinion (And then apologized because I sounded more rude then I intended to), she blew up at me and insulted me, I became rather rude in return, etc.

I commented with the intention of trying to be helpful in all honesty. You probably don't believe me, but I just thought I'd let you know that fact, since your friend neglected to mention that.

eloquentllama In reply to deidaraart5 [2011-03-25 03:48:08 +0000 UTC]

It wasnt your critique she responded badly, maybe you should be careful about your choice of words in the future, you come off quite abrasive while no trying to offend. "no offense" but i read the whole conversation and you were quite offensive.

deidaraart5 In reply to eloquentllama [2011-03-25 03:55:45 +0000 UTC]

I'd apologize to her, but she posted a journal saying how horrible and mean I am, when if you read her comments, she honestly was no better then I.

I never called her any names. I was attempting to be polite as I could with her being rude to me. (It didn't work too well obviously, but..) She called me a "weeaboo" which is highly offensive. I tried to stay polite to her, tried to make sure to not call her any names (even though a choice few did pop into my mind). She responds by saying I had no talent, knew nothing about art, was a weeaboo, need I go on?

I did say that her art was unpleasant to look at, I did say she could improve, I even told her to stop baww'ing. I, in no way, claim I was doing nothing wrong, because truthfully I let my temper get the best of me, and that wasn't right.

Did I deserve the treatment I got? The rude comments about me on her journal?

Does anyone deserve to be treated like that..?

((sorry for the text wall, I got carried away))

eloquentllama In reply to deidaraart5 [2011-03-25 04:05:07 +0000 UTC]

Neither of you really behaved well. I was just saying you need to watch what you say because whether you like it or not, you started it. Ive known her for a long time and she can get upset easily, yes. but your opinions are not critiques so don't go baww'ing about how you were treated badly for just giving someone an innocent critique, because it was far from that. you said offensive things to her and she did it right back, just with different words. just get over it, honestly. keep critiques to critiques, your personal opinion is not a critique.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

deidaraart5 In reply to eloquentllama [2011-03-25 04:15:46 +0000 UTC]

Then why are you only calling me out on it? And more importantly why would you call me a horrible name because I was out of line? That doesn't sound like you're just telling me to watch what I say. :/

I did watch what I said first comment, I apologized for what I said second comment because it was worded horribly.

I did give her an innocent critique at first- Made sure to compliment the tutorial even. I got an "it's my style" retort, so I tried to pass off my opinion as a light-hearted joking comment, realized I was out of line, and apologize instantly and sincerely. I then got shit thrown in my face. So naturally I reacted badly to that, because no one likes being bitched at for having an opinion. Even more so when they apologized because they realized their opinion sounded far more rude then intended.

I'm not bawww'ing by the way. Baww'ing would be posting a journal about this whole thing and whining to everyone about how "horrible and bitchy" she is. Which I haven't done, and am not planning on doing. What would I gain from making the people who watch me hate someone who happened to be rude to me?

So in a sense, before you just commented again, I DID back off. You're the one still stoking the fire.
