Description
My hair flies as the wind blows,
The sand making its way between my toes,
And my face was in awe
At all that I saw,
Amazement.

The ever expansive body of water
That lay before me.
The sea spray danced in the air,
And seagulls that call loudly nearby to a tolerable degree,
The beach.

I dig my heels deep in the sand,
And trace the horizon with my hand.
The salty smell fills my nose
As I dip in the water with my toes,
My family calling me to hurry in.

Splash!
The water goes as I crash in.
My short legs kick relentlessly,
And on my face is a grin
As I try to catch up with my brothers.

The ocean seemed to stretch to infinity
With only the shoreline behind me in the vicinity.
But like a fish in the water
And with my mom calling, “Come on daughter”
I swam and I swam and I swam.

The waves lapped at me
As if they were huge mountains falling down.
It was all I could do,
Just not to drown
Until I was saved with a swooping motion and carried in my father’s arms.
