Wolf hunting is bad, but I think the seal killing in Canada is FAR worse. Just think about it, people just beating baby, BABY, seals to death for no reason? It's SO sad. It's like a sport to them. I live in MN though where you can go up north and see a wolf easily. It's so awesome, I don't want them to go. Are there a lot of wolves in England?

AW! It's awful that they do that to baby deals, it's scummy and terrible and vile. I can't stand to even think about it, it's disgusting and barbaric.
No, there's sadly no wolves wild in England, but there's lots of reserves for them ^^
I don't want them to go back to the wild in England though, because they would end up getting shot and I would end up getting thrown in jail cos I'd shoot all those bastard hunters lol

Excuse me but we dont likk seal for fun, we kill them to regulate the seal population cause they are to much seal. Seal is eating all the morrues (fish) so we kill them to protect other animal. Seal hunting is like wolf hunting its protrect the environnement from demographic explosion since the polar bear can regulate those seal human need to do something so that why we kill seal.

I can see the reason behind regulating population, but BEATING THEM TO DEATH? No, I'm sorry but I totally don't agree with that. Humane destruction is fair enough in extreme cases, but shooting for so-called sport and beating things to death is just a fucking no go for me; sorry and all that, but it's barbaric.

I don't recall ever saying that Canadian hunters killed seal pups for fun, all I said was the way they kill them, regardless the reason, is cruel and disgusting. I said the majority of wolf hunters hunt for 'fun' and 'sport', not seal cullers.

Shame humans are destroying the eco-system, isn't it? Or there'd be plenty of bears to hunt the seals. Humans are trying to take too much control over this planet.

I appreciate your point, but at the end of the day, I didn't say anything of the sort of what you're implying. All I said was that the method was abhorrent.

I'm afraid you're not fully digesting what I'm saying. I DON'T CARE what people get out of it, I didn't mention my opinions on that. BEATING SOMETHING TO DEATH IS CRUEL AND WRONG, NO MATTER IF IT'S AN ANIMAL OR A HUMAN.Just because it's a seal doesn't give a person a right to think it's perfectly fine to make it suffer like that. Just no. You wouldn't think it's fine to beat human babies across the head just because there's too many of us (Which is totally true; there are far too many humans on this planet.) so why is it fine to do that to anything else?

They have pain receptors, they feel it in exactly the same way we would. Just because they don't look like us and can't talk does not mean we have any right to behave in such a disgusting manner. HUMANE DESTRUCTION is the only way forward. Bludgeoning something, ANYTHING, to death, is sick and wrong.

It doesn't excuse it.

Battering something to death is a vile, abhorrent thing to do, culling seals could be done in a much less painful way. This is my argument. Why be needlessly cruel and unflinchingly barbaric, and use a method that causes EXTREME amounts of pain and often takes ages for the recipient to die, as opposed to using a method that is quicker and less painful? The people who condone it have no compassion and have little to no awareness past themselves.

Anyone who thinks it's perfectly alright to smash in the head of ANYTHING on this planet, whether it's for a certain cause or not, needs their own head looked at by a psychological professional. What you've basically just said is that you don't care a jot for the pain of another living creature, but I bet you'd be of a totally different opinion if a nation of the world suddenly decreed a mass genocide on babies, and started beating them to death with clubs. It's the same thing. Everything that feels, experiences the same pain. Seal, wolf, bear, deer, fox, human, they're all the same, even the cows and sheep people regularly consume, they feel too. It's all wrong. Exploiting animals and making them suffer needlessly is wrong, just as it would be if we were talking about humans. NO COMPASSION. NONE.

What do you want that all poeple become vegetarian. You should know that human evolve with meat, they got a big brian to capture animal. NATURE IS SICK GET THE FUCKING PIONT.

XxMozartxX In reply to LeDiableDesBois [2011-03-06 13:30:27 +0000 UTC]

Things that don't make sense;
1) Poeple. Not a word.
2) Brian is a name, not grey matter. I'm assuming you mean brain? And clearly they left you out of the 'big brain' deal that comes with eating meat.*
3) Piont. Not a word.

I'm not arguing that everyone should become a vegetarian, I'm arguing that inflicting unnecessary pain is cruel. Inflicting UNNECESSARY PAIN IS CRUEL. <----- That right there, is my point. Everything feels pain, so causing anything to feel copious amounts of pain over a long length of time is brutal. I believe humans call that torture.

I'm not getting into the whole stupid evolutionary debate thing with you, because that's not remotely what my POINT is about. I'm talking about the here and now. Humans are supposedly the most advanced species in the world, hence why we're at the top of every food chain. If we're so fucking advanced and moral like everyone thinks we should be, come up with a less cruel way of reducing populations. It's all about money, all it will ever be is all about money, because humans are selfish and LACK COMPASSION.

*I also laugh my ass off at this statement. A lot of the world's most intelligent people are vegetarians.

You've lost all credibility, you can't even argue anymore, which means it lacks validity.

Come back later when you're not incoherent and narrow minded, or after you condone baby killing, too. I wouldn't be surprised.

I didn't say I couldn't deal with it. I can deal with that.

I'm just saying you have no compassion, and that your argument is invalid. YOU LOST THIS DEBATE. YOU DEAL, WITH THAT.

Have a very lovely day

XxMozartxX In reply to LeDiableDesBois [2011-03-06 13:56:08 +0000 UTC]

I'm forced to laugh at your 'deal with it' thing. I CAN DEAL WITH IT. I AM DEALING WITH IT. I'm not talking about animals having compassion, I'm talking about people having compassion, y'know, because we're supposed to be these 'HIGHER' creatures. It's expected of us, as the dominant life form, to have more savvy than everything else, and therefore more power, but also more good qualities LIKE COMPASSION.

You're fully entitled to your opinion, but in having that right you also have no right to criticize other people's opinions, like you did in your first comment. Everything is connected, for one priviledge there will be a restriction. Please take these into account prior to the next time you barrell in to have a go at an age-old comment.
