Description
It was a normal day in the revolutionary base and things were relatively quiet considering everything that was happening at Marineford. I had been working with the revolutionaries for about six months as Dragons right hand woman. I was currently sitting on Dragons desk discussing the incident with the Celestial Dragons at the slave auction in Saboady.

"This could be problematic for us, one of our best informants is based in Saboady" Dragon said reading a newspaper and twirling a pen in his fingers

"Yeah, plus with everything that's been happening there and Marineford the marines are going to be on high alert" I replied gazing absentmindedly staring out of the window, smiling like an idiot.
"Well seems like somebody's in a good mood considering that you've spent most of the past week crying in the corner playing with a lighter" Dragon said with a slight smirk and laughing at his own joke, he put the newspaper down and turning his chair to face me. I turned my body to face him with a big smile
"Why shouldn't I be~! I found out Luffy and Whitebeard went to save Ace, so I know that he'll be coming back soon~" I said resting my chin in the palms of my hands daydreaming(Sort of like Boa's fantasies except it you and Ace XD)

"Well that's great! It seems my son is as strong and courageous as his father!" Dragon let out a hearty laugh which made me giggle at his fatherly love.
"Anyway back to busine-"
"SABO!"
"BOSS!"
"WHATS WRONG!"

Dragon stood up abruptly and swung open his office doors and began to run down the long corridor towards the commotion. I was taken by such surprise that I just sat there.
'Sabo'
Once I came back to my senses I paniced and quickly got up to follow after Dragon, but most importantly to find Sabo. I ran into the corridor and saw Dragon burst into the control room, I was quick to follow behind him. Once we were inside the control room, we saw a group of people surrounding something. Dragon then began to push his way through the crowd of people to get to the source of the commotion. I saw Dragon crouch down and begin talking to somebody but I couldn't see who it was, then I spotted Koala out of the corner of my eye so I walked over to her.
"Koala what happened!?" I asked grabbing her shoulder and turning her body to face me
"I-I don't know....I just gave Sabo today's newspaper, and he just kinda....brokedown..." I have her a confused look, but then realised what she said. 'Wait, it couldn’t be....shit'
I quickly made my way through the crowd and reached Dragon - who was now standing up - and that's when I saw Sabo on the ground. He was crouched down on his knees with all of the documents littered around him. He was clutching a newspaper close his chest, I couldn't see his face because of his hat, but the quiet sobs and small puddle on the ground were enough to understand that he was crying. Hack, Dragon and Koala began to usher people out of the room, leaving me standing infront of Sabo.
"S-Sabo...what's happened, I've never seen you like this before..." I walked over to him and put a hand on his shoulder, I could feel him shaking and how tense he was. I heard him mumble something incoherent and cry a bit more.
"What? I'm sorry I don't understand..."
"...........b-b-brother......" He mumbled something again a bit louder but all I understood was the word brother.
"Sabo, you need to speak more clearly" I said rubbing his shoulder. Suddenly he shot forward, still on his knees and buried his face into my stomach and began crying louder.
"I COULDN’T DO ANYTHING TO SAVE MY BROTHER!" He shouted hugging my stomach and crying, I could feel his tears soaking through my shirt. But then the meaning of his words hit me like a freight train.
Ace
I let a single tear fall, but I didn't cry. Instead I lowered myself down to Sabo and hugged him tightly, which he quickly returned and buried his face into the crook of my neck. We sat there for about an hour, before Sabo's cries became less frequent and more of a gentle sob.
" Sabo it's late, let's get you to your room"He simply nodded with his face still buried in my neck. I helped him stand up and and begin walking away, but he grabbed my wrist and pulled me into his chest, making me blush at his closeness.
"Thank you..." He whispered, he pulled away and kissed my forehead making me blush insanely. He then walked away wiping his eyes and heading towards his room. I was left standing there slightly shocked and dazed.

~*~*~*~2 months later~*~*~*~*~

After we found out about Ace and Whitebeard's death, I went to Saboady to check in with our contact and Sabo, Koala and Hack went to check on reports of gun trafficking. I had returned back to the revolutionary base quite late at night and was currently sitting by the small lake not to far from the base. There was a full moon that was reflecting off the surface of the water, and the cool night breeze caused a beautiful song to come from the surrounding trees. We had tried to forget everything that happened but we couldn't, instead we chose to treasure his memory instead of grieving.
"Heelllllooooo~" A voice sang behind me making me come out of my thoughts.
"J-Jessica?!" I replied a bit surprised, Jessica was my best friend but she had left a few years ago to become a pirate.
"Suuuup?" She replied dropping down beside me. I immediately hugged her before she could say anything.
"Oh my god where have you been!? I haven't seen you in ages! I told you becoming a pirate was a bad idea!" I scolded her, she replied by pulling away and giving me a pouty face
"Hey, joining a pirate crew and being with Law was the best decision I ever made!"
" No shit! He's all you ever talk about! Everytime you visit your like ‘omg dat Law tho :3' " Me and Jessica burst out laughing at my petty attempt of imitating her. Jessica's laughter died down before mine and she gave me quite a serious look
"Listen..." I stopped laughing and looked at her "... I just came to tell you that Law has been looking after Luffy and- "
"WHAT! OH GOD HE'S GOING TO EXPERIMENT ON HIM!"
"What! No he's not, look, we're currently docked at Amazon Lily and we expect him to recover fully within the next month so don't worry about him"
"Well it's good to know that my idiot of a brother is still alive" Jessica and I turned around to see Sabo walking over with a smile on his face
" H-Hey S-S-Sabo" I greeted blushing quite alot, I heard giggling behind me and turned back to see Jessica covering her mouth trying to muffle her laugh. I gave her a confused look .
"You looooove him~" she hummed standing up and dusting the dirt off of her clothes, meanwhile I was staring at her with the most horrified look ever hoping that Sabo didn't hear her. At this she just started laughing loudly and began walking away, waving over her shoulder.
"See ya~ Have fun Sabooo~"Jessica hummed, stopping to look back at us to see our faces, I was blushing uncontrollably and Sabo was just confused. Jessica chuckled and disappeared down a path. I sighed heavily and started massaging my temples, but I heard The sound something dropping down beside me.
"Well that was certainly intereating, she’s always been very amusing" Sabo chuckled sitting down beside me, his body was facing the water the same as mine. We sat there in a comfortable silence listening to the gentle waters and the sound of the occasional fish surfacing to get some air. I was staring at the water until something caught my eye. I turned to look at in Sabo's direction and gasped. Behind him, just hovering above the edge of the water, there was a gathering of fireflies.
"Sabo..." I breathed
"Hmmm?" He replied turning to look at me, I pointed behind him and he turned to look at the fireflies dancing in the air
"Wow...." He hummed leaning back on his elbows. We both stared at them mesmerised for a while, I glanced at Sabo. He was amazing. He had taken his hat of and his face was slightly illuminated and shadowed in other places because of the full moon. His hair was gently moving with the wind, and a small smile tugged at my lips as I turned to face the moon.
"You seem like you've changed recently..." I hummed still looking at the sky
"That's just because we haven't seen each other in a while" Sabo chuckled looking back up at the sky with me.
"The moon is beautiful" He said before lying down on the grass with his hands behind his head like a makeshift pillow.
"Yeah"
I feel I can tell him now, I feel I need to tell him. These feelings I've realised since seeing him again, those words that are important to me.
"S-Sabo, I want t-to tell you something, b-b-but I'm scared that you might want to laugh, but..." I was stuttering and playing with the hem of my shirt, and my face was completely red by the time I'd finished speaking.
"What is it?" Sabo asked sounding slight concerned. I swallowed hard and tried to gain some confidence, I took a deep breath and looked up to the moon.
"When you were away, I was waiting for you, expecting you to call. Everytime my den-den would ring, I thought it might be you and I became strangely nervous but also excited." Sabo began to slowly sit up and listen to me intently.
"I know you never hadn't promised to write or anything, but I checked my mail early everyday just hoping that you had sent me a letter." I finished and bit my lip, I didn't trust my voice anymore because I was so nervous. Sabo just sat there with the most dumbfounded expression I'd ever seen.
"Well -- this is certainly unexpected, I can't even register it...and I'm sorry about leaving, I was --" Sabo stopped talking when he realised that I was sobbing a little bit.
"When I thought you had died and Ace had left, I decided that I was going to move on with my life, but once I joined the revolutionaries and met you again, you would always leave for missions and the thought of you leaving and never coming back again haunted me...." my voice broke and Sabo gave me a soft look.
"(f/n)...."
"After that I became Dragons secretary because I wanted to be there when you came back, I couldn't do anything but wait-"
"-(f/n), what are you trying to-"
"Sabo, I love you. Since we were reunited and ever since!" Sabo just started at me wide-eyed and slightly open mouthed. I stood up and turned away with my back to him.
"I understand if you don't feel the same way, but I love you and that will never change" tears began to fall and I began to walk away.
Suddenly, Sabo grabbed my wrist and spun me around to face him.Out of nowhere he pushed me against a tree. I was about to protest, but was quickly silenced by Sabo crashing his lips onto mine. His lips were soft with a slight hint of tea. I was surprised at first, but quickly melted into his embrace. I closed my eyes and let one of my arms go around his neck while the other went up to entangle in his hair. Sabo's hands moved to my waist and he pulled my body closer to his. He gently locked my bottom lip asking for entrance, which he quickly got. His tongue gently slipped into my mouth and massaged the inside of my mouth. He pushed into me a bit more deepening the kiss, making it become more passionate. After a few minutes, we broke away for air. Sabo looked into my eyes and smiled.
Suddenly he started blushing furiously, went wide-eyed and tripped over nothing backwards, he scrambled up and put on his hat.
"I-Im sorry, It's just that you basically just said everything that I've always wanted to tell you..." Sabo muttered rubbing the back of his head and looking at the ground. I just giggled and walked over to him. He was still rambling on about 'being sorry' and 'digging his own grave'. I grabbed his collar and kissed him gently. He started at me when I pulled away, but I just hugged him tightly.
"I love you Sabo" I muttered into his chest. Sabo's expression softened and he just smiled and hugged me back.
"I love you more" he said nuzzling my neck. We stood there for a while just enjoying the atmosphere, until out of nowhere Sabo picked me up bridal style and started to walk back to the base.
"S-Sabo, where are you taking me?" I stuttered looking up at him as we entered the base
"My room, for a bit more.....privacy" he chuckled at the last part, but his sentence also made me blush
"Okay, but why are you carrying me? I can walk you know..." I said pouting and folding my arms like a immature child to empathise my point
"Well...." Sabo leaned in closer "I wouldn't want you to escape now would I?"
