Yay, I finally got to do the next comic for Meiles and Yarifeth's backstory
Thank you to all who encouraged me to continue with it!So yes, Meiles leaves her in the care of other blood elves in Silvermoon. They actually don't see each other again until many months later.

I thought it took Belfs thousands of years to reach maturity and trolls only 15-16 years?
Wouldn't he be long dead by the time she grew into womanhood?

Blood elves are usually considered mature between 60-110 years of age. They don't live thousands of years as a rule, though it is in rare cases possible. They are considered old around 263. And old for a jungle troll is 47. But Yapi's never said their age, just he's middle-aged and she's young, probably just on the edge of maturity. But really a number is a relative thing in Warcraft.
And odd, the poor Horde's main races aren't overly long-lived. Huh.

Haha I don't have a definite age for them. But yeah if we have to put a number, then Yarifeth could be anywhere between 40-70 years and Meiles somewhere in his mid-30's. Poor girl's gonna be left alone way too soon.

No kidding, on the alliance our shortest lived race are human (though we can class worgens in that soon). I mean we have a race of immortals and a race that used to be immortal. Even gnomes which I assumed where like rabbits (or any small rodent), live for stupidly long times.
The horde seem to struggle to make it past 100, not counting the undead, because yes they could live on for ages, but technically... they're not alive...

Haha no, you're not sounding bad at all. You're completely right. Meiles is middle aged at the moment, so he will definitely die long before Yarifeth starts looking like an adult woman.

Interesting relationship mix when you think about, he's the larger and more physically imposing/dominant, yet ultimately the most fragile of the pair. its all sorts of cute.
