Description
Now... this may seem a bit different compared to other works of art from PMP or Paleo-Profiles I've done. Also, you may be wondering what the hell is this pic? Why does this dinosaur look extremely outdated, why does this shot look like something I did in Photoshop as a starter work of art from like 2010? Well... that's because it is from 2010, and I didn't make this pic. I found some old files on my old hard drive from 10 years ago, and thought I'd tell you guys how I got interested in Photoshop and more interested in Dinosaurs as a whole.Back in 2010, when Zoo Tycoon 2 boards were still popular, a new story arrived on various old internet forums that are either inactive or aren't around anymore. That story was called Creatures Time Forgot, a story written and illustrated by a guy known as Brach/Braq or in DA's case MorTalWawmbaht
It was 6 episodes long, and had a familiar plot, man goes back in time, rescues animals and then brings them back to the present. The way that Braq utilized these animals/objects was he posed them in a rendering software (NifSkope), then Photoshopped them into a screenshot from Zoo Tycoon 2.
Basically a version of Past Meets Present, but with far more ambition, a far broader plot, and (IMHO) still pretty good depth to the story. Sure, as you can see from this pic, it lacks lighting, the dinosaurs are outdated, but it still looks extremely amazing in how the animals were portrayed.
And I gotta tell you, it captured my imagination as a young teen and made me want to get into this enterprise.
In total, there were 6 episodes, targeting in order:
-Mid-Cretaceous Argentina (as seen in this pic with Giganotosaurus)
-Late Cretaceous Texas (Deinosuchus)
-Pleistocene Philadelphia (Smilodon and American Mastodons)
-Late Cretaceous Mongolia (Velociraptor and Therizinosaurus)
-Late Jurassic Utah (Allosaurus and Stegosaurus)
-Late Cretaceous Montana (T.rex and Triceratops)
There was supposed to be a season 2, but unfortunately, that got cut short due to hard drive difficulties and a mini-series that also got cut short for reasons beyond my knowledge.
However, it was during these HD difficulties that made me decide to go full on into both experimenting with 3D Models as well as getting into Photoshop and writing. I can confidently say, if I never saw this pic, this pic of a female Giganotosaurus watching Time Traveler Mike Smaultz from a distance, I'd have never gotten into Photoshop, Past Meets Present would be non-existent, paleo-profiles and everything else would never have happened.
Even though it's likely they may never see this post, I'd like to thank RessurexStudios MorTalWawmbaht and Eco727 for everything and I would never have gotten here if it weren't for them. Thank you guys...
Hope everyone has a great Sunday and I wish everyone the best.
