South Dakota, 66,250,000 B.C.E. 7:45PMThe last hours of this day in Hell Creek are also the last hours of this magnificent bull Tyrannosaurus rex. A long 35 year life is drawing to a close. A true monument to the brutal region of Hell Creek, he bares his scars proudly. His left arm ripped off from a confrontation in his territory some 3 years ago. Multiple scars cover his face and body. However, the most notable is the abscess on his left tarsal which has now turned into a full-blown infection. Received from botched hunt on an Ankylosaurus, the tail slam wounded him and the infection is now too severe to heal properly. However, while he lay dying, a strange mammal approaches him.
Rising slightly to his side, his massive 4ft jaws open and he emits a resonating bellow to intimidate it away. However, while he warded off this strange mammal. It won't be enough for all denizens of Hell Creek.
Soon, bigger opportunists will arrive...
