Really intriguing portrait. Makes em wonder who is eating away at who here. The forbidden fruit looks to be ripe, radiant red, resplendent and fully intact. The Lady on the other hand appears to be the one who is beginning to peel. Her protective outer covering slowly flaking away to reveal at first the inner flesh, then in the end maybe even down to the core of her soul. It may be that when she took the temptation of this apple into her and, it may have started slicing away her skin and indulged in taking bites out of her.
