Soulmate AU: Everyone has a tattooed timer on their wrist with the name of their match on it. The timer counts down until you meet your soulmate. Only you can see the name, no one else.

Third P.O.V

[Male Name] released a sigh, relieved to finally be off of the plane. He was going to live his elder brother, Taiga Kagami. Stretching out his arms and successfully cracking his back in the process, the [hair color] haired teen returned to his slightly slouched stance.

"First year of high school in Japan huh. Well technically it's my second..." [Male Name] scanned the crowd for a certain tall redhead, prepared to give up until he heard, "Yo! Otouto (little brother)!"

The younger Kagami flushed softly, annoyed by all the gazes turning towards him. "Your presence is too noticeable. Everyone is instantly drawn to you — and I get caught in the crossfire." Grunting lightly, the elder ignored his sibling, settling on leading him out the airport.

"My friends want to see you. They completely flipped when they found out I had a little brother."

"And they'll be completely surprised when they find out we're polar opposites." [Male Name] retorts, pulling his headphones over his ears. He didn't want any stranger trying to socialize with him on the bus, it was too awkward and uncomfortable for him.

"They might be relieved actually..."

[Male Name] stared at his timer, heart picking up pace slightly. There was 3 hours left until he met his soulmate. The name instantly gave away the fact that it was a boy.

Aomine nearly died when he read the name [Male Name] Kagami and then looked up to see Kuroko calling some bulky hot-headed male, "Kagami-kun." However, a wave of relief washed over him the moment he found out that the first names were different. On top of that, his timer still had a few months left.

The blunette knew that he wouldn't last long without getting into a fight with Kagami - even if he was to be his soulmate. The teen in general wasn't all that likeable, especially when he gets the running his mouth during a match.

Kagami's aggressive nature challenged his own, and it was irritating to have to prove who was stronger and/or better than the other. Aomine wanted a soulmate that wouldn't cause him too much trouble, was low maintenance, and easy to please.

Is that too much to ask for?

Apparently so. When the day came that Kagami mentioned having a little brother named [Male Name] Kagami, he prayed to the gods that the duo wasn't mirror images of each other.

Handling one Kagami was enough, but two? That's a no-no.

[Male Name] swallowed thickly, taking in all the air that he needed. He never told Taiga who his soulmate was because he didn't want to get teased for being the rare percentage of people who's had same-gender mates. So now that there was literally 2 minutes left until he met his match and the fact that he was surrounded by majority of Kagami's friends made him want to vomit.

"Hey, Aominecchi! Over here!" Kise flagged down the table that they were seated at, but [Male Name] was hesitant to glance his way. He's here! He's friends with Taiga! Taking his chances, the younger Kagami tilted his head upwards, gobsmacked with what he saw.

A tall lanky male with dark tanned skin, half-lidded navy blue eyes that looked territorial with matching short blue hair. He wore a lazy smirk, hands tucked in his pockets.

It's you.

Aomine sighed, fed up with Momoi's pestering. "Don't you want to meet your soulmate?! It's supposed to be every person's dream!"

"Not mine."

"Dai-chan! Please, I want to meet your match!" Groaning, the lengthy male slowly sat up, shooting Momoi an irritated glance, in which she retorted by sticking her tongue out. During the ride on the bus, Aomine remained silent, sparing a look every once in a while at his timer.

"Five minutes left. I'm so excited for you!" A happy blush overcame Momoi's face as she resisted the urge to squeal. Aomine grunts, standing up as the bus pulled to a stop. He placed his hands in his pockets, an uninterested expression plastered on. He had no need to look at his timer, he knew good and well who his mate was.

"Hey, Aominecchi! Over here!" His dark blue eyes dragged over to where the energetic blond stood, waving his arm like an idiot. Then, in the back of his head, he could hear a beeping noise, causing him to look at his wrist.

The blunette looked at Kagami, before directing his gaze to the left, where someone unfamiliar sat beside him. Messy [hair color] hair, somewhat dull [eye color] eyes which were decorated with a pair of prescribed glasses with thick frames (like Ray Bans), and pale skin, showing that the teen didn't get out much. A small smirk made its way onto his lips.

"So you're him. My soulmate."
