Description
This is a project I started long ago (about 2 years ago) and various real-life issues (like getting married and working way too log hours to make ends meet) prevented me from advancing and finishing. As the title says, it's still unfinished. So, what is it?
In the end, it's going to be a lamp, hanging from the ceiling of our bedroom. It will have 4 sides, and on each side there's going to be a female face.
The faces I chose are 2 from a drawing by Gaugin, 1 from a drawing by Picasso and 1 from a drawing by Matisse.
I used textile watercolors to draw (actually, try and copy) the faces. This was so hard to do, because the color wouldn't stay there (as it was water based) and it would spread all over the textile. On top of that, half way through the project, the yellow paint turned "sour" and wouldn't mix with water well, so I couldn't figure out whether I had put enough yellow, until I actually spread the thing on the textile (and of course, after that it was too late).
This one is the Picasso feminine face.
